"When we went to put our laundry at muchileros hostel, we asked the lady where we can eat good ceviche.she pointed at estate street and said: there are three cevicherias there, choose the busy one. we did as she told us ( the other two were empty)the place was full of Peruvians, and the waitress showed us the only free table.she recommended us the ceviche mixto and we asked for fried lenguado as well, she told us that it had run out but we could try the chita. we ordered a jug of chicha as well.the portions were very big tasty and very fresh.the ceviche (25 soles) had two types of fish, prawns, calamari, clams, octopus, sweet potato and onions.the fish( 30 soles) was fried whole with yucca rice and salad, was one of the freshest fish that I have eaten, but had a lot of bones.the chicha was to die for, with cinnamon sticks cloves oranges and apples, and not to sweet.all this for 55 soles only ( the chichi seems to be included).while we were eating, school children came and bought cups of take away ceviche.the place was constant full with people living and working around, but not a single tourist.the place is closing at 5 pm so it is for lunch only, and because all the seafood is fresh, if you come late some of the fish and seafood will run out.Definitely HIDDEN GEM"
