"I gave this place a one star because they wasted my time. We paid for our food at 7:20, she said “oh if you wait in your car I’ll bring it to you, it should take 10 mins”. Well at 7:55 I walked into their restaurant and there was my food just sitting at the counter. The whole time, I was telling my husband, “ I wonder if that’s our food and she forgot about us?”. Sure enough, we were forgotten."

"We enjoy going to Mikata. Our young son loves the entertainment that the enthusiastic chefs offer, and I personally believe the sushi prepared here is probably the best anywhere in the area. The cook that prepares it is an older Japanese master who will definitely take you proud of his craft and has extensive training in providing high quality prepared kitchen. In addition to your entrée you also get a hearty soup, home salad, additional grilled vegetables and ice dessert should you wish. You can also immediately find yourself wrapped in a pleasant conversation with other nice girls next to you on the large open Hibachi tables. We definitely feel that Mikata Auburns is the #1 choice for delicious Japanese steak, seafood and sushi. I wouldn't imagine it's better or something else to try. Mikata just won our hearts."

"After a restaurant in Jim Thorpe PA with my friend a few weeks ago sushi really bad. I don't live far from here, but I'm never gone. I will definitely be back for a delicious sushi! If there is one thing I would change, it is that there is no sushi with spicy Mayo on it, so I was a little disappointed as my favorite man o had tried previously seasoned Mayo. Just a very small Grip-Tho!"

"I dined in during their lunch special, and ordered their yellow curry with added tofu. Because it was surprisingly sweet I’ll give it a 7/10. I will order it at a spice level 2 or 3 next time to kill the sweetness as a preference. I want to emphasize that It wasn’t bad, I was just wanting something with a kick to it. HOWEVER.. their Tom Kha soup… AMAZING!! If you dine in during their lunch special you can opt in or out of a free bowl of soup. I tried their Tom Kha soup and immediately ordered another bowl of it to go!! Will surely visit again!! Updated from previous review on 2023 02 28"
