"Was so excited to try this place, but am a bit let down. Taste wise, it is acceptable. You can tell the sashimi isn?t cut fresh. Based on the texture (looks rubbery) you can tell it is precut and refrigerated, and honestly either tastes fishy or like nothing at all. What REALLY gives it away, is the fact that there are shriveled green onions on the hamachi l o l. The tuna was the worst offender, the yellowtail better but afterwards was not sitting well. ? The wagyu clay pot flavor was great! However, it?s served in a pot that is usually for soondobu, so the rice doesn?t get very crispy on the bottom.. aka the best part ? We also got the tonkatsu ramen, which once again flavor was fine, but served luke warm. There was noodle chunks which tells me everything is prepared, sits there, and just warmed together for serving. Makes sense since it all came out pretty fast. I debated between 2 or 3 stars, but I?ll give it a 3 for now because rice and noodle dishes were acceptable flavor-wise. I would like to come back to try the wagyu on stone grill as it seems like a lot of people say good things about that? But we?ll see."

"Kakuna is home to the BIGGEST sushi rolls. Each time I go I am never disappointed and the price is so good i’ve never been to a sushi store with prices as low as this, while maintaining a pretty good quality. The staff are extremely kind and help create a nice atmosphere. The only thing that I would take note of before going is that there is very limited seating, so I usually just get togo. I wouldn’t suggest this place if you are looking for a fancy sit down place, but more of a chill hangout with friends. Truly my go to spot for sushi now :"
