"There is piping hot ramen that hits the spot at Tanpopo in Buchanan Mall in Japantown. They have assorted shoyu (soy sauce) and miso ramen as well as some non-noodle dishes like broiled mackerel and gyoza. You can eat at the counter and watch Japanese TV. The only unusual thing about this place is that they don’t serve hot tea unless you order it from a can or bottle which is displayed on the counter. They will heat it up for you and serve it in a teacup. It’s odd, but I can overlook it since the ramen is so satisfying. Service is hit or miss, they are friendly but some servers are better than others. It seems at most places in Japantown, you go mostly for the food than the service."

"This is a cute hidden gem in Inner Sunset with a good space in the back that can be rented for a private party. This is a typical day to day sushi joint. The fish was pretty fresh but it's the standard fish not some of the unique nigiri pieces you may find in omakase restaurants. The Hamachi kama is grilled and what you would expect.Food: 4/5"

"I've been going here for years. It's a very modest place with good, fresh food at a great price. I always get the You See Special (used to be on the chalkboard and not on the menu)and my companion gets the chicken teriyaki bento. Service is efficient, if not overly friendly when they're busy. A very good place to go for a quick, tasty meal."

"Jackie and his staff are quite excellent. The service is always outstanding. We eat here regularly and it is always a delicious meal. He has several unique dishes and the fish is consistently fresh and tasty. The Marina District location is also very convenient."

"I have been to Dojima Ann for several times and this place has never let me down. The food and service quality are good. Waitresses are friendly and always refill our water. The prices are also reasonable considering its location (San Francisco, downtown, few blocks from Union Square). The interior decoration are nice, too. Bonus point for me: Their Maguro Natto is tasty (Raw Tuna with fermented beans, though natto's smell could be too strong and bitter to some people). Overall, nice place!"

"Sushi lovers, this is sushi heaven! They seriously have about 50 options on the menu. And so many sake bottles you will have a hard time deciding. I have yet to get a bad choice in susi and I have visited this resturant over 10 times now, and tried 10 or more different rolls. The only down side is you have to ask for packaged chop sticks!"
