"We just stopped for lunch on our way back to Tacoma. The dining room is correctly furnished for the period of history when this hotel was built. I ordered chicken salad. My chicken wasn't fresh, it was old like it had been left out on the counter too long. The meat was strong in flavor, tough so I sent it back and asked for their shrimps instead. The shrimps were delicious. The chef came out and I explained what was wrong. All things considered, they should have given us complimentary dessert. I would give this restaurant another chance because the chef was concerned but if it happened again, that would do it for me."

"Great food but the service needs work. My wife and I went to Mallards after I found a groupon for a four course meal. The food was wonderful! Out meal included crab cakes, lobster bisque, steak and lobster and finally desert. Besides for the steak being charred and well past medium rare the food was great. The lobster bisque was fantastic. The service on the other hand wasn’t great. The bartender and waitress never introduced themselves, said hello or even smiled. The bar tender took my wife’s order then walked away without even looking at me. The waitress was equally unfriendly. She would drop off food without even looking at us. In my opinion, ever guest that walks through the door desire better!!"
