"We were there years ago and ma have they put it together. Homemade pasta made to order with fresh vegetable or classic sauces, or salads. I had Bolognaise (fettuccine) and my wife had angel's hair with herbs and shrimp. Both very good- really surprisingly so give the look as it is somewhat bland. there weren't many wine choices - red or white. but this is an excellent place for a good lunch. Our hosts had a chicken Caesar and herbed angel hair pasta. The dishes going to the other tables looked ..and smelled good too. Good bread, too. It's nothing fancy - no date night material but for a good honest bowl of good pasta- top of the list! It's lunch only - closes at 4 pm"

"On the all w lloyd road only north of the carretera there is a wonderful little restaurant, only open to breakfast and lunch. the ambiente is purely mexican, not a garden or a great view, but eating is great. jesus teresa treats her guests like family. teresa is an excellent cook and does not push the best tortillas we have ever had hand patched. we also had excellent garnel, fish fillet with Mexican sauce (pescado mexicana,) carne en su jugo, etc. from ajijic to chapala, turn left at the light spot at walmart and it is on the right side of all w lloyd, opposite the gym. go, you will not be disappointed in the food!"

"But since you have probably never had the experience it is a must do. Be prepared to figure out whether you want meals 1, 2, 3 or 4 from the billboard menu. I don't think anyone speaks English. It's not hard. There is usually a line of locals picking up dinner. They close about 3 pm. There are a taco stand and a shrimp (I think) next door. All are busy anytime I have been by. I have yet to get there at the height of the cooking with a camera when the cook is dancing, tossing these chickens around. If you can regard a cemetery as a destination, this is lot more interesting even if you don't buy anything - but that would be a mistake!"

"Not enough waiter the day we went, so we waited an hour for our food and then one of the four meals was incorrect. They did change it quickly but no apology. The food was ok, but not great. Just not what it was hoped up to be."

"I was in the area doing my weekly shopping and I drove by El Fogon de Charlotte and decided to finally check it out after months of driving by. It looked like there were a couple of single diners there and being solo myself, I hoped to find a bit a conversation along with my lunch. After passing through the usual covid checkpoint at the door I selected a seat near a couple of other solo diners. The menu offered a good selection of grilled meat dishes and some shrimp dishes as well. The pizza section of the menu was quite impressive and I noted that for future reference. The waiter efficiently took my order for coconut shrimp and I relaxed to enjoy a nice glass of cabernet sauvignon while I waited. In no time I had a nice conversation going with both solo diners on either side of myself and the wait time for my meal quickly passed. Both of the other diners were regulars and repeat business like that is always a good indicator of a good restaurant. My shrimp arrived and they were delicious. Only one small thing set back my rating on this restaurant and that was the battle against flies. The restaurant is an indoor/outdoor kind of place and it would be hard to slow down the flies without some real aggressive action. But other than that, I was delight with the restaurant, the service, the food and the other friendly diners I found there. I will definitely return to try out their grill specialties in the near future."

"This is the best place in Ajjijic for seafood. The portions are large and the fish so fresh. We come here often during the week and had to use our phone translator to learn the types of fresh fish. The Sole is outstanding...its the one...on the menu that starts with an "L The fish board tells you what is fresh that day. Not fancy but don't let that fool you...this is the place for FRESH fish."
