"Fries and Pies is an adorable little food truck located directly across the street from The Argosy and about 2 minutes from the Aleeda and Pacific Inn hotels. This place has been around for a couple of years and is run by a lovely couple -- very friendly, warm and inviting: they know the meaning of customer service! And being personable (without being too intrusive) is important when it comes to establishing rapport with people in Rupert's saturated restaurant scene. It helps to garner that all important customer base -- something Fries and Pies appears to have done with their impressive following on social media.Indeed, while personable service is definitely important, what has kept me coming back is the food: decent prices and healthy (i. e.: large) portions! The burgers are made fresh to order; the fish and chips are some of the best in town; the perogies are outstanding; the variety of dogs is impressive; and the pies -- yes, the pies -- are to die for! In fact, it is the lovely apple pies that deserve special mention: even if the rest of the food wasn't good (and it is excellent, by the way,) the pies alone would be reason enough to return. The pies feature a wonderful crisp exterior, covered in cinnamon, and a nice hot filling. Best of all, they remind me of the pies you get at Harvey's Restaurants in that they're fried, not baked! So you know they're good!!So, yes, if you find yourself in the neighborhood, do check out Fries and Pies. There's a little something for everybody and it's good value-for-money! "We ate here twice while in PR. It is in a great spot up the high end of the street and has a great space for groups to mingle and enjoy the sight of the bay. Food was cheap and cheerful, beers cold and locals...friendly. We had a groundhog visit and a deer walked through the grounds."

"Eight of us visited this great little restaurant after our day of fishing. The food was fantastic! Hot, Fresh, and just spicy enough. We didn’t know what to order, so we left it up to our waitress to pick all the dishes for us. She...surprised us with a lovely medley of seafood, beef and chicken dishes served over varying noodle types and rice. The price was really reasonable and the food was exceptional. This is our third trip to Prince Rupert and we make it a point to stop here every time. The food will not disappoint you."
