"I have been at the Il Piccolo Pomodoro a number of times. Each time the food has been a treat. Not once have I had a bad meal or disappointing dish. Ingredients are fresh, the seasoning is well balanced and every dish comes out of the kitchen in harmony. A family restaurant, with a warm something in the air that makes it quite homey, it is well worth a visit. Perhaps its major weakness is its house wine: too pricey for what it is. It is the one thing that calls for change and improvement. But you can take your own wine for a S/.35 cork fee."

"We had lunch last week at Osteria Convivium and (as with prior visits) loved the food and hated the service. All of the dishes we ordered were well-prepared Italian classics -- risotto a la milanesa, arancini, insalata caprese, etc. The cocktail list and wine list are also well curated. However, the service was pretty much dismal. It took quite some time to order drinks or get menus, but once we did, a waitress suddenly appeared and insisted that we order immediately because the kitchen was closing. She waited, looming over our table, for us to choose options from the menu that we hadn't even had a chance to open. Why did no one mention that the kitchen was closing soon in the 20 minutes we had been there? Why did she need to hover over us and wait for us to place an order right away? The same waitress's service throughout the rest of the meal was borderline rude. It was all very odd and incongruous with the beautiful space and delicious food."

"A very exotic but upscale restaurant in Lima. Use local and regional ingredients as well as embracing other cuisines such as Kimchi from Korea. Fermentation seems to be one of the main tactics that chef uses. The 2 types of fermented butter was a bit too exotic for me but the yogurt spread was good and went well with bread. We picked two vegetable dishes from appetizer and 1 main dish, which was fish. All were amazing. I really liked the cabbage dish. Also the fish was well cooked. It was think but cooked even. The fish crust (not skin) outside was so tasty. We each had pisco based drinks, pisco mule and pisco punch. Both were good. Each dish was served and presented so nicely. We really enjoyed dining at Malabar. However if you are not used to the fermented food, please be cautious about the consequences. The staffs were knowledgeable and friendly. Would like to go back and try other dishes!"

"I enjoyed this restaurant twice on the same week during a business travel. I definitely enjoyed the place, great food and the excellent service. I do recommend the Shrimp risotto and the Tuna tartar."
