"Food was just awful.. half the menu they didn't have so ordered spaghetti bolnaise which was disgusting pure mush. The staff laughed when saying the food was not nice and said we know. Dont recommend at all"

"Had an amazing meal for our anniversary. Food was amazing, cocktails were even better, all the staff were very friendly and you felt really welcomed. The decor was quirky and had a relaxed feel to the place. We will definitely be back soon ."

"Enjoyed a delightful Christmas meal at the Black Bull last night with family. The festive menu was a highlight, and I opted for 3 courses. The Ham Hock Terrine was a standout starter—thick, chunky, and possibly the best I've ever had. The game casserole for the main course was accompanied by two types of potatoes and plenty of veggies, while the gingerbread and orange cheesecake provided the perfect, balanced finish. Special thanks to NEVE and SOPHIA for their outstanding service; their always make it a great experience. Thank you, Black Bull!"

"We visited on the 3/12/22 as a family of 13 , when we booked they asked us all to pre book our food ,which we did . We booked for 7pm for the table and 7.30pm for food to start , we got our food at 9.15pm ? We did ask the owner what was going on as he did make a thing about pre ordering which we did ? He said it will be here when it’s here ? I was gob smacked at how rude he was . When the food arrived it came out in bit by bit , some of our food was Luke warm , I mentioned to the owner that my food not hot and his reply was shall I stick it in the microwave for you ? I was appalled? Needless to say we didn’t pay the full bill , the waiting on staff where fantastic and couldn’t fault them at all , but the owner I don’t know how this business keeps going with a attitude like that . Never would I give this business my money again and I only paid half of my food bill"

"Been here a few times. Very good food pub and excellent real ale. Had a pint of best bitter from Congleton's Beartown brewery. Used to brew Silver Street in the basement but brewery has moved and was not for sale on my visit."
