"Always a busy restaurant, we have been coming to the Livesey over a few years now and it goes from strength to strength. We called with friends on a Thursday evening, the bar was busy with good humoured banter and the restaurant was warm and friendly. Served by Jo, I had the chilli prawns starter followed by sirloin steak, others had the venison which I was informed was to ‘die for’ and I was assured the filet steak was delicious. We are blessed in having such a great pub in the area, without doubt, it is one of the best."

"Had a fast pub lunch in the city pub environment. the weather is great, so sat outside on beautiful new clean tables. eat nicely presented well cooked. chips were a bit limp, but still ok tasteful. the place has friendly friendly staff. would recommend."

"I found a 3 long piece of metal scouring pad in my mouth while eating. Their only response was to offer to replace the dish, no refund. No I do not want more food from them, I may never eat take out again."

"We came with friends this evening (Friday 13th) as we've told them how great the food is on several occasions. This time was just as good if not better than before. The weather was terrible and a nice hot tasty meal was just what we needed. The steak pie was amazing as was our friends braising steak and cottage pie,all served piping hot and on hot plates too which makes a difference too. Friendly staff , even had a chat with the chef. Fantastic evening and our friends where very impressed with everything. Thank you"
