"We have been coming to Lagos for over 20 years and the first place we ever visited, for drinks and a meal, was Abrigo, or the Orange Bar in Town, as we affectionally called it. We continued over the years to frequent the bar and...liked the fact that you got to know the waiters. We never had a problem with the food either. It’s a perfect place for people watching. However on our last visit, pre Covid, and our current visit now, the place has changed. There doesn’t seem to be any interaction with the new staff and the remaining staff we’ve known have a changed attitude. It’s hard to put your finger on it but there’s an uncomfortable feeling atmosphere there. We actually got up and left, when we called during our current visit, as we just called for drinks mid afternoon, and it was clear, because we weren’t eating , staff delayed any service to us, perhaps wanting us to leave and vacate the table, and it worked. So sad but, after many years, we won’t be visiting Abrigo again, under the current regime."

"Been going to Mullens in Lagos since 1990!! It is a former bodega now a bar and restaurant. Great atmosphere, reasonable prices and great food. Chicken piri piri is great. Slightly quirky place where they play jazzy music in the background and have a cosmopolitan range of staff young men and women from various different parts of the world. It is owned by a Scottish Portuguese family who play a very active role in the management and are very visible on the ground. It's great for all to eat in, couples, singles and people with kids. We've been to Lagos about a dozen times or more have would never dream of a week there without going to Mullens at least twice. Everyone I've ever recommended to go there (and there have been many! has given it a major thumbs up. During busy season you probably need to book it if you want to eat there. Great atmosphere, music, staff and food. All very lay back. Have a look definitely."
