"First visit as get together of group of 8 at lunchtime on Sat near Xmas. Reduced to 3 stars as only served restricted menu to pub classics,lunch menu, and special board. One of the group had looked online and looked forward to steak, another wanted soup with crusty bread which was not available. No xmas meals available. I chose large scampi and chips £12.95 which was very nice. I ordered hot chocolate fudge cake and ice cream for dessert, which was served cold. It was still nice, but with all the chat, I hadn't realised until checking the bill. Service was good. the food i had was good. Place clean and plenty of parking. Allowed dogs in and plenty of space inside. Near Portchester Castle i you wanted a nice walk. I had a nice time with friends, food nice enough and would go again but bit let down with offering at seasonal time."
