"This is a Fortitude Valley institution - the restaurant has been around with for years with Jimmy at the helm. The wait staff are attentive, friendly and helpful with recommendations from the extensive Chinese and Malaysian menu. The dishes we chose were quite nice (although a little bit too Westernised for my fussy Malaysian-Chinese palate). I think that they use far too much onion - particularly in our shallot and ginger scallops - which had a large amount of both shallot and white onion. We had dinner there with friends on a Friday evening. The restaurant was packed and the noise levels were incredible. Everybody seemed to be shouting and nobody could hear anything so it's not a place to linger over your food and drinks. We would be happy to go back to try some other dishes but not on a Friday or Saturday evening."

"Ordered the chai tow kuey, vegetarian mee hoon, tahu goreng, roti chanai and teh tarik. The chai tow kuey and mee hoon were delicious. The tahu goreng was way too hot for me and the roti was too thick. Nice teh tarik. Great prices. Overall, quite happy with Hawker's Cafe and I'll definitely return."

The owner recommended to order the dishes where the pictures on the menu are BIG and she was right about that! Very fresh ingredients and authentic taste, super thumbs up! Spent AUD60 for 3 pax!"

"My family's go-to Chinese restaurant in Kingsford. My favourite dish is the beef noodle stir fry. They also give you a tofu pudding dessert when you purchase their lobster but I'm not sure if this is a permanent deal so it's best to check :"
