"The restaurant very kindly took a reservation while we were on the highway on a busy Sunday. We should have reserved parking too (which you can 't do), as that was a real problem. When someone parks unnecessarily too close to a white line, it causes a chain reaction of inconvenience. We arrived 20 minutes late, and they were still willing and able to accommodate us. Nice, that they have an elevator to the first floor deck. The setting is attractive, even the outside porch, where we got one of the last tables. The service was efficient and cheerful. We had two courses, fish and chips and a pavlova for dessert. Both looked attractive, but were a tad bland. Perhaps it is unfair to assess a restaurant on just one try. I certainly wouldn 't call it fine dining , though. We saw other dishes going to other tables, which similarly were photogenic. So, to my mind, the jury is still out. I would try other restaurants in the area before returning."

"This is not the cheapest place in Ouistreham but worth the extra. A course menu for euros with a superb ballotine of eglefin, beautifully cooked veal in a light mustard cream sauce and a wonderful chocolate and coconut desert. A carafe...of medoc was euros which is a bit on the pricey side and the could do with including a cheaper house wine. A cider framboise aperitif was lovely as was the service and I left bien mange albeit for euros with a modest tip. The only real criticism is that until the place filled up a little there was a rather morgue like atmosphere. Bare stone floors need a little ambience so a little musique s’il vous plait."

"Every so often you come across a hidden gem- this restaurant was one of those occasions! Having arrived in Ouistreham we wanted a short walk, not a hike from our accommodation and were advised that this restaurant was open- unlike many others on Labour Day....What a treat- the staff were so welcoming and the food simply sublime. I could easily run out of superlatives. I had to touernado de boeuf which was cooked perfectly and presented to perfection. This followed by a creme brûlée that simply put was the best i have ever tasted. My only regret is that this restaurant is too far from home to eat there weekly!"
