"Had a great meal over the Valentine weekend, so we were expecting a similar experience. As it was a Sunday we ordered the Sunday lunch. It was not what we expected. Catering pack style meat warmed up, not freshly cooked and carved joint we expected. The roast potatoes could have been Aunt Bessie`s also the veg was cold. It was just like a microwave ready meal.We were going to book a family meal for that weekend, but quickly changed our minds.Sorry Royal Oak an opportunity lost. Maybe other items on the menu were better but we couldn`t take that chance"

"Afternoon tea started ok, the waitress was pleasant to take our order and this was brought out quite quickly. The sandwiches were nice, but the cakes were generic business bought ice cupcakes, Macaroons and cheesecakes that we did not eat (we took them home but nobody ate them) The Scones were overheated, so was a bit hard. Coffee was lukewarm. After we were served, we did not see anyone again, so no refills of tea etc. and we had to go to the reception to ask them to pay someone."
