"Stopped in for a late lunch during a long journey North to Newcastle. What a lovely pub! Such a friendly welcome, great food with a good range of alternatives for vegetarians and those with special dietary requirements. Soup of the day was a spiced cauliflower and coconut and for me came with a Hot Hob baked baguette with cheese ham and onion chutney. Husband had his with fresh bread which was home made and lovely. Kids enjoyed their meals (macaroni cheese, ham eggs and chips) and the portions were generous. We sat in the bar area which was just right for us, servixe was fab and we were beautifully looked after a lovely lady helped us when one of the children had an issue. Thank you so much Forge Inn, we will be back on our next trip!"

"We dined in the downstairs room on a Sunday night. The atmosphere, service and food were excellent. There was noone upstairs, so I cannot comment on how things might be different if the restaurant is busy."

"Lovely food. We had a platter for 2 which was enough 3 with chips and drinks. Came to about £50 which is cheap. Attentive staff. We would go again."

"So glad we booked for our Christmas lunch. We lunched in the restaurant which was very atmospheric as there were plenty of other diners. The food was excellent and very well presented and the service very attentive. We eat at the Bull's Head regularly and following the recent new management there has been a huge improvement. Highly recommended."
