"Following a guided tour of the Chapel Down Vineyard we opted to have lunch at The Swan which is the on site restaurant. Really excellent food and service. Highly recommend the Venison if available. Given the standard of the food and service we thought it...was good value."

"It's a shame it's changed so much. Lots of very loud customers, food was OK, service very very slow. Sad times places change. We won't be returning sorry. Puddings wete good though! Especially the cheesecake"

"Always a pleasure to lunch here. Haven't tried evening as it's not local for us at Sandwich, but it's more convenient than Tenterden to meet friends from Uckfield and Eastbourne. Staff very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Arrive early and enjoy coffee in armchairs around the blazing wood burner while perusing the excellent menu. Just wish we had more friends!"

"We had a great lunch at the george yesterday. the food was prepared on a very high standard, fresh and tasty. Although we had to wait too long for all courses, it was good to wait for them. hopefully someone can be used to support the fantastic chef."

"Honestly the best Pimms I've ever had, I don't know how they made it so much better than other places but they did! Lovely location, plenty of outdoor seating and vegetarian food options available. Staff were very welcoming and the service was excellent. Within easy walking distance of Dunn street campsite."

"Visited here in a group of 16 adults for dinner. I had sought the menu beforehand offering plenty of choice, and notified the restaurant of our choices. The restaurant is attractive being a little olde worlde, and there were fresh flowers on our table. The...two young ladies who served our meal silver service together with the owner, were excellent friendly and efficient. All the meals including the vegetables were cooked to perfection. Altogether a delicious evening meal. If there was a downside it was a slight lack of atmosphere as we were the only customers. Perhaps a little background music would have helped..... However it was a lovely evening and all our french friends were very impressed."
