"I was visiting Ballymena on a half-day trip from Belfast doing some genealogy exploration in the area. I stumbled upon the Fern Room atop the McKillan shoe store (probably one of the largest shoe stores I've ever been in, btw). I was anticipating a quaint,...lacy, antiquey type of tea room, but its more like a cafeteria. Little ambiance. Small salad bar, some hot foods. Honestly nothing appealed to me so I chose a scone and bottle of water. The scone was fine, nothing special, but did the trick for me. Several tables of people (mostly women) who looked to be taking a shopping break. Its certainly well located for that."

"Ordered honey chilli chicken with fried rice and chips earlier tonight. Firstly, the new Manley is probably the most expensive Chinese carry out in the UK. We are frequent visitors to London and I guarantee you will get good food for half the price. The honey chilli was burnt black. Totally inedible. Phoned the Chinese to complain only to be answered by the most ill mannered customer service person I have every spoken to. She said bring it back and we will give you a credit. I asked for my money back and she said the owner (Simon Chan) doesn't do that. Why would I want a credit to get crap again? The smell was awful. I then asked to speak to Simon and he refused to speak to a customer which is absolutely incredible. Simon might steal my money but I will make sure that he loses much more in terms of lost business in the coming months. I will tell everyone to stay away. What a cheat and thief."

"My experience with this cafe was with take out soup, which was really tasty. Very cheap too. I can't comment really on what it is like to sit in, but they seem to have plenty of seating and any time I have looked in the...window it seems to be busy."

"Very expensive for breakfast will not be back. Used to have free tea with breakfast but now a 5 piece fry is £6 and then you have to buy your tea. Not worth it! Will not be back"

"My wife and I were regularly at redbrick, as they first opened up and especially fans of excellent castors. today we were looking forward to lunch and both ordered the rolls. what a disappointment! they were unrecognizable, although as...big as always (my wife gets the half in a box to take away) in taste totally lacking in taste, bland and seemingly unseasoned, and with a strangely loose texture. the salate was also mere. my American woman, who was really strong before, was significantly weaker. some unfamiliar employees and a conversion of the counter display, with fewer options in the offer, suggested that there might be a change of administration, and not for the better. To date, this place would have rated 5, but according to today's experience I doubt if we were to be back."
