Leider sind die Wartezeiten exorbitant lange, die Rauchbelästung auf den Tischen in der Nähe des Grillers zeitweise unerträglich und manchmal vergisst die Chefin des Hauses Bestelltes zu servieren. Insgesamt herrscht im Service ein regelrechtes Tohuwabohu. Die Preise in Relation zu hoch."

"Die neuen Betreiber des Goldenen Hirschen in Gmunden bauen den alten Gasthof im neuen Stil schrittweise wieder auf. Die Speisekarte enthält die volle Bandbreite von Hausmannskost bis internationale Speisen. Das Ambiente ist sehr ansprechend. Die alte Stube wurde kreativ neu in Szene gesetzt. Die Wirtsleute sind sehr offen und freundlich. Im Sommer 2015 wird der neu gestaltete Gastgarten eröffnet und weitere Ausbaustufen sind in Planung. Das Lokal ist in der eher konservativen Gastronomieszene von Gmunden eine willkommene Abwechslung. Für alle die abseits der ausgetretenen gastronomischen Pfade auch gerne einmal etwas neues probieren, ist dieses Restaurant nur wärmstens zu empfehlen."
