"What makes this place worth five stars when there is so many other Thai restaurants out there is that the food is excellently prepared and different than the typical Thai food nearby on this island, which is refreshing as almost every other place has the typical 'Tom Yum ' soups and 'Pad Thai ' type of things but here you can get excellent creations from the chef. I recommend the Singapore noodles highly as well as the curries. They have interesting desert options as well. Vegetarians will be at home with the options, too as the vegetarian dishes are worthwhile and most of the menu can be ordered vegetarian."

"Kona is like a tropical Las Vegas or a Monday night on Bourbon Street. THIS is the top rated sushi place in Kona? What an embarrassment. The sushi was mediocre at best with too mushy rice and meager portions. The horrible fried fare (chicken furikake that the server recommended fried ahi steak) on the other hand was awful AND plentiful. At first, I thought that the katsu sauce could save the ahi tuna steak but sadly it was just a thick glop of salt. The chicken furikake was covered in a goopy sauce that somehow congealed the fried coating on the chicken. There is NO ambiance as the window facing ‘view’ allows for a sneak peek at a gorgeous Japanese paper lantern… That has been covered in plastic and is so filthy and bug covered it is in itself nauseating. People watching is depressing as it is a belly out vibe…and not the good kind. Inside it’s dark and dingy with no attention to aesthetics."

"This is proverbial hole in the wall restaurant. And as such, of course, the food is excellent. I had the beef, which was thinly sliced and soooo good. Don't let the surroundings turn you off, liquor store and cold storage next door. I do suggest taking it to go. No A/C and at times it is noisy from cold storage place loading trucks. That's the reason I didn't give it 5 stars."
