"We were in a group and we had to eat there. First they placed us at a table. Suddenly they thought we should change. While getting our first course we had to change again. After the main course which was lomo saltado with just 4 mouthful of meat but at least one big onion, we had to pay and we were not allowed to wait at the table for our friends that went to toilet before leaving!Afterwards we went eating properly."

"I came with a group of 8 people for lunch and was told that this was fine. Our orders were taken promptly, however our food took an hour to be delivered. Meanwhile other tables who arrived after us were being served and left before we had our meals. When the meals came they were hot, but the flavours really weren't there. Not a pleasant experience."

"Conveniently located near the train station and close to the bus for Machu Picchu. It is on the river and the noise is quite something but with the windows closed it wasn't too bad. We stayed one night and because we were leaving early (5am) we would miss breakfast, much to our surprise we had a packed breakfast waiting for us. When we got back to Aguas Calientes we had a few hours to wait for our train and were able to use the internet. The beds are worth a mention as they were the most comfortable we had found in Peru with good quality sheets. It was hard getting up early. The shower had enough hot water for a couple of showers."

"Our group had a mix array of items for lunch and we were not disappointed. Pizza was good with fresh tomatoes and basil. Another had a delicious looking chicken soup while others had trout and even an Asian fused rice. The owner worked hard to make handmade Piso Sours that were excellent. Eat outside and watch people - very interesting little city."

"Despite being in the premises of Tierra Viva Machu Picchu and where its breakfast is served, the restaurant is a third party and doesn't belong to the hotel itself, in the same system as at the TV branch in Valle Sagrado. Breakfast is standard in all TB units, rather basic but you won't miss anything much; I myslef would rather have more regional opions in the menu... Breakfast is always included in the rate and asking for the room number is just for internal control. As a restaurant itself, the menu is similar yet very different from the one in Valle Sagrado; prices are similar and much too high, which doesn't seem that intelligent a strategy, for there is a lot of competition in the village and the hotel should offer a fat discount to guests eating there and/or make special deals for non-guests to feel persuaded to eat in a hotel restaurant! Let's also hope the chef and the head waiter are also different than then ones in Valle Sagrado, for the experience there (read review) was more than awful and it actually caused me not to choose Ayasqa for dinner yesterday! It could be the case for many other guests, so management of both restaurant and hotel must sit together, read the reviews here and change procedures urgently, running the risk of losing guests and clients..."
