"We've been to this restaurant twice now and both times it exceeded our expectations on every level. The service is magical without it being overbearing and the food is just delicious and consistently good. Being a veggie I had the veg lasagne both times and it was perfect. I tried the brownie tonight and it was by far one of the best brownies I've ever had, rich, moist and gooey without being dense, do not miss it! Sadly we leave tmrw but we will remember this place for all the right reasons. Thank you Team Makao"

"The service in this restaurant is so ridiculously bad that you think: this can't seriously be happening. So, first thing was: we ordered a main dish, trout. So you might expect, that a main dish comes with any side like potatoes or rice etc and vegetables. Especially since it was the main dish and pretty expensive. But, guess what, we ordered trout, so we just got trout. So literally it was only one piece of fish on a plate. We asked for a little bowl of rice. But after couple of minutes, the waiter came back and said something in Spanish that we didnt understand, so: we never got the rice...The second thing that we ordered was a platano with cheese, tomatoes and onions. So what came? A cold and fried platano with cold cheese on it. Normally this dish is served warm and the cheese is melted. Took them 1 second to prepare it. Also: No tomatoes and onions. When I asked something he explained that he could bring a little bowl with it, but I said that it was supposed to be included, but he gave me the feeling I was wrong with it ( but it actually was in the menu (!). So never came the bowl with salsa, as well, even though I ordered it. Alright, that was the food. Now come the drinks: My friedn ordered lemonade without sugar. So, guess what: it was full of sugar, of course. I ordered a Poker, but was brought an Aguila light. After complaing, he brought the Poker. The best part comes now: after we finished eating, he took away my beer without even asking and it happened so fast, that I didnt notice fast enough. The beer was actually still like 30% full. So I asked him where my beer was and he replied that it was empty and I disagreed. So he came back with the bottle, which still contained a bit, but most of the beer was in the glas, which he didnt bring. So I tried to explain this to him, but he just replied with: en serio? He asked if I wanted to have a new beer, but I would have had to pay for it...great service.Not. Which waiter ever takes a partly full beer away after finishing eating?!?!? What was he thinking? Seriously? So,you might think: this was it. But no, the final part was the bill. He didnt change the beer order so, the bill still said I ordered the more expensive Aguila, even though I didnt order it. So, all in all, you can say, that every order we made, came put wrong and the worst part about it: the waiter didnt show any understanding for it. He constantly gave us the feeling, that we were the wrong ones. Please dont go to this place!!!"

"I was there only once for a meal and, despite the food being pretty decent, i accidentally caught a very disturbing conversation between the owner a Spanish man and one of his employees (or should we say 'slaves '? Long story short, this bad excuse for a human being treats his employees, specially women, like garbage and to top it off, he steals for himself the customer 's tips, of which none of the personnel gets to see a single cent. He 's also well known in Salento for the awful way he treats people who doesn 't agree with his managing methods. Definitely, not recommended at all. Salento is plenty of awesomely good restaurants and hostels where employees are very well treated. Please, avoid Casa La Eliana . The fact that the owner resorts to empty and continued threats instead of trying to clarify the situation says a lot about him as a person."

"This place was recommended by our Willy driver. We really enjoyed the garlic trout here - it was perfectly cooked and really well seasoned. It wasn't heavy at all like the other place we ate at. The steak was also quite good - it came out on a sizzling plate, and started off a little rare but after resting was cooked the way we requested. Service was friendly, as was the grill master."

"After traveling through Colombia for 3 months, I got tired of eating basic limited vegan foods for breakfast at restaurants. I ordered the curried veg sandwich at Veggie Salento and it was awesome. Literally just like something I would tuck into in London. It was filling, hearty and the bread was to die for, soft and fluffy with an outside crunch. The meal came with natural juice and coffee for only 8000 pesos that was a cheap eat! Break breakfast in Colombia so far"
