"A return to Shanghai wouldn't be complete without a return home that is exactly the welcome we received. The staff make this place and the food that much more enjoyable. I was lucky to try the new strawberry chocolate ice creams, the churros which are all amazing, as well as sampling a new peanut cookie. So happy to see so many happy familiar faces and see that this place is popular. Open again after the lockdown and now got new items such as the bubble waffle with home made ice cream. It's been 2 years since LN Fortunate closed now they are finally back in Shangha in an amazing new location in the heart of the former French concession. Look for Peet's Coffee and round to the right of it is an entrance where you can take a lift to the 7th floor, then the stairs up to the 8th floor attic space where you will be warmly greeted like family by the amazing staff. What a stunning space this is with a small rooftop balcony affording great views but none as great as the mural painted by an extremely talented local artist. I was lucky to attend the opening party last Wednesday but today I wanted to try regular service. You can follow their Wechat account to receive 10% off your orders and you order by scanning the QR code on your table. We both had the vegan burger and fries, which were as good as I remember especially the salt pepper seasoned fries. The cinnamon bun and matcha breads were amazing relying on flavour rather than sugar. I had an oat milk latte to go which was delicious. I look forward to trying other menu items. "A short walk from the subway of Hongcao Road on line 12, take exit 3 on foot to the intersection and go to the left, not far to the right is a large silver sculpture at the entrance of a group of buildings, this place is just here. A beautiful place with seats on the upper floor, you can scan the QR code on your table to order or the staff will help you to order via a physical menu. The place has a simple Buddhist mood, the staff is really friendly. We ordered 4 dishes, a sweet acid pillow that were delicious, perfectly cooked, very subtle sauce. We also had okra mushrokms with a sauce, it would have used a little more sauce for my taste, but was really good. Green tea Buddha cakes were fresh, I love these. The best dish was a truffle of fried rice, which had small dice of pineapple, made it very different from other fried rice dishes. Will definitely go back."

"My comment: We went to the 3rd floor buffet. Superb! Enormous buffet with a huge diversity of dishes, beautifully displayed; lovely place and atmosphere. Very tasty, creative dishes. Its exquisite cooking with a huge range of dishes including appetizers, soups, main dishes, salads, Japanese sushi, a salad bar, fruit, desserts, Hagen Daas ice cream, coffee, an assortment of great teas all included in the price. Every item we tried was fantastic. Also the display and location were beautiful. It should be noted that the price is not moderate. It is, in fact, an upscale and expensive buffet (about $35 US per person) but it was worth it. We thought that it was the best restaurant we have ever been to. Note: Take subway Line #2. Jingan temple station is nearby. They close exactly at 2 pm. Also, it IS open on Saturday. Expensive"

"It’s super easy to find, and there’s a clear Happy Cow sign on the window. I had a fried mushroom dish which was super yummy. Unfortunately it came out way sooner than the other two dishes I ordered, making 1. me almost finished with them and 2. them cold by the time the other two dishes came out. The food is very, very fresh. The next dish that arrived were the walnut buns (dim sum section of menu), which were slightly sweet and pleasant. The next dish that came out were steamed dumplings/jiaozi, that arrived piping hot. They were good, but really filling, so you should be fairly hungry when eating this dish if you’re by yourself. The problem with this dish was with the sauce that came with it, which I can’t even call sauce; it was just melted and very greasy sesame seed butter without any flavor at all. The service was really warm and friendly here, so I’d definitely come back to try more dishes, and bring someone with me next time. They have an iPad menu that has some English, and ordering is pretty easy. Update: I’ve already been here two more times since my first trip, and I will keep coming back because it’s proven to be the best vegan food I’ve had in Shanghai, on top of being very reasonably priced. Dishes I highly recommend: chicken in chili sauce, mushroom buns, “fish” and vermicelli soup pot with pickled cabbage, wonton soup"

"A small, cheap, Dien yo earth place just across the street from the mall complex. Excellent dumpling sauce. Vegetarian dumplings were on the rightmost part of the menu, no English anywhere."

"Loads of choice. Beautiful interior. Veggie and vegan options. Lots of wheat meat to choose from. Spring rolls, tofu skin rolls, kung pow chicken, steamed buns, dumplings. Nice waiters. We went with two kids aged 2 and 4 and they were very accommodating kids plates, cups, chairs and they even gave them a toy each!"
