"We reserved a table for lunch (glad we did as it is very busy at the weekend) my man had to chop pork and I had tortellini with spices/nuts and a creamy sauce. for the desert we had coffee with schnapps/Baileys. Eating is beautifully presented and tastes...lovely service is good, but they are extremely busy especially at the weekend so that they make some certificates. we strongly recommend booking a table if they do not want to wait."

"All in all I had an enjoyable dinner at Seehof.The restaurant is located at Walenstadt Hafen (harbour) which, by the way, is at least a 20-minute-walk away from the railway station.The staff was welcoming and friendly. However the service got rather slow towards the end of the dinner - it took quite a long time for the staff to take my dessert order!Food was good with adequate portions.As starter I chose the lamb's lettuce "Seehof": as advertised on the menu, the salad included generous portions of bacon and croutons, but I definitely missed the nuts (I counted three tiny pieces!!). As main course I opted for the tasty "Walenseepoesie" - a fish duo comprising of boiled trout fillet (served with a delicious herb sauce) and fried perch fillets (light and not greasy at all). As dessert the crème caramel did its job properly.Prices are at the usual Swiss (high) level."

"If you are looking for an authentic experience with tons of character and great food, don't miss Calusa Beizli, because it would be easy to do so! My friend and I stumbled upon Calusa Beizli after hiking through the crazy snowstorm in nearby Flumserberg. The road to the restaurant was closed, so we had to walk about 5 minutes through a snowy field. The reward was well worth it when the proprietor Gabi served us the most amazing vegetable soup and cheese plate with her homemade fruit bread, after putting our wet clothing on the stove to warm of course. When we arrived through the snow covered gate, the only other patron we found was an older local gentleman with his dog enjoying a hot beverage. Though two 20-something boys did arrive a bit later, Gabi joked she had ordered for us. In a cozy room that led into the kitchen, we delighted in the ambiance of it all. During warmer months, there is ample seating outside with a panoramic view of the mountains and valley. As the snow lifted a bit, we were treated to this view from where we sat warmly inside finishing our meal off with teas and some freshly baked cake."
