"Spontan bin ich hier nach der Wanderung vom Chäserrugg auf der Terrasse eingekehrt.Freundlicher Empfang. Karte ist mit gut bürgerlichen Speisen bespickt. Die Portionen sind gross. Die Qualität ist gut. Das Preis- und Leistungsverhältnis ist stimmig. Die Bedienung war effizient und freundlich."

"We actually spent our New Year's Eve in this restaurant. We chose this place because it is the only one in Wildhaus that we were aware that it offers its normal à la carte menu along with a special 'Silvester' menu. The reason to be... my other half, of course being Swiss, has extremely limited taste and does not eat much other than chicken, potatoes, pasta and salad. In the end, my girl also chose the menu because they offered only a limited à la carte selection. Our menu consisted of 5 courses and an Amuse Bouche to start. Unfortunately, everything was only average. 85 francs for a 5-course menu is extremely reasonable in this overpriced country, but the food was reflected. Nothing stood except the Muse! The seafood course of sub-standard fish and scallops and the beef tartar had virtually no season. The Konsommé was Bland. They never asked us how our steak made for the main course and the meat itself was tasteless. Too many places in Switzerland do not hang their meat. An unaltered steak is bad quality, time. Basic errors. Along with the fact that they keep pushing us through the meal, the entire experience was disappointing. The food could look good, but it has average taste. Too much aromatized and not enough care to bring out the best in the taste of food ingredients themselves. Will we come back? Probably for a pizza, but not for much else."

"I really do love this place. We were back here over the weekend for a lovely Saturday night dinner and they did not disappoint. We were seated by the window on a cute table for 2. Graciously hosted by a lovely female waiter, who I...think is also the owner, the restaurant was busy and all seemed to be enjoying themselves. There were tables of families with kids, a couple of table for 2's and a large table with around 10 locals. We started off with a Campari soda and a Hugo cocktail. Both served elegantly and delicious. While we sipped on our aperitifs, we pondered on what to order. This place has an authentic Italian kitchen brigade with excellent Italian dishes. As it is game season, they also have an excellent game menu, with the game being hunted by the owner himself. Last time I had ordered the Chamois stew and this time round I wanted something different. As there was no wild boar main course, I ordered a wild boar ham salad while my partner ordered the bruschetta to start with. Both were excellent, well presented and tasted superb. For mains, my lady ordered the Chicken piccata parmesan bread-crumbed and pan fried) with fries and I ordered the Venison geschnetzeltes like stroganoff without paprika and cream) with rösti. According to my other half, the piccata, which was more like a schnitzel as it didn't have an eggy crust, was the best she had ever had. I tried it and couldn't fault it. Perfectly seasoned, juicy, moist and delicious. My geschnetzeltes were really very very delicious, but the rösti was over-salted. After a few bites, as soon as I told the waiter, she quickly whisked my plate away, apologized profusely and ran to the kitchen to get a fresh plate made. She was so apologetic but I told her that it was not a big problem as long as what came back was spot on. And it was. They served me a freshly made dish with perfectly balanced flavours. True hospitality. Other places would use the same meat and just serve it with fresh rösti. For wine, I went for a bottle of my beloved Ameila Nero d'Avola, one of my favourites. Just perfect. For desserts, I went for a Vieille Prune sorbet swimming in Vieille prune eau de vie and the lady had a warm chocolate cake with homemade ice cream. Yum! The meal was finished off by a complimentary grappa, kindly offered by the waiter owing to the problem with my rösti. All in all, a fantastic meal served by genuine hoteliers. Oh how I wish the rest of Switzerland would follow suit. Good hospitality does exist in Switzerland, but unfortunately very rare in Zürich : . Total bill including 2 aperitifs, 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 desserts: CHF 160.00"
