"If you like your pizza to be done the proper Italian way with a thin, crisp dough, you might like this one. We had two margherita with extra capres and artichokes and a napoli, all three as big as cart wheels and, at least to my taste, a little heavy on the mozzarella, to the disadvantage of the excellent homemade tomato sauce.The salads they serve for starters are huge and very fresh, and they come with a basket full of warm rolls fresh from the pizza oven. Next time, I might not even get round to ordering the pizza...The restaurant serves other Italian food, too, such as various pasta, meat and fish dishes and a huge selection of summer salads. I've tried the gnocchi arrabiata as well as a salad served with a grilled chicken breast, both of which good and quite sizeable.You can either sit outside in the quiet garden under the trees (very rare in Basel) or inside in the cosy old style restaurant. Service is fast and friendly and the prices are quite reasonable for Switzerland."

"Not the restaurant of my first choice, certainly not for a carnival sleep. Unfortunately, the food was swimming in the sauce and the potatoes were definitely not homemade. The wine was too expensive (CHF 44.50 for 0,7l St.Saphorin, although Epesses ordered) and too warm. Surely a nice little company, but only not made for a clique of 50 people."

"It's nice to sit outside (with 35 degrees there's always a nice air!) or inside (to the windows, big, and with view on the humanity that goes and comes,) sip a good beer and served very well (it's not everyone!,) to have 4 chat with our guest who always has a kind word and a smile for everyone. the bistro is at a crossroads, and there are many different and interesting people, and it is a meeting point for the inhabitants of the district. the bar also makes diner, with family cuisine rich, tasty and at moderate prices. for those who love to take a sweet or salty breakfast (the croissants come from the bakery next door, which is among the best in the city) or a small break between one commission and the other!"
