"We stayed at the hotel and went to this restaurant two times for breakfast and once for dinner. You get what you pay for, not inexpensive but very good. The staff were very friendly and allowed us five hungry and jetlagged travelers to come in...and start breakfast 30 minutes early, while they were still arranging the food. Great selection. Dinner, too, was very good. And if you are lucky, you can enjoy a clear view of the surrounding mountains from inside."

"Hochnäsig was the word I was looking for. Ideally located to sit and people watch I was disappointed with the Merlot but there's no better place in Berchtesgaden to while away the hours."

"A fast lunch on the way to Austria. nice eating and very fair prices for all items. we sat outside and enjoy the view. the chairs outside are not very comfortable. the worst was a long waiting period for our drinks and even longer. for eating."
