"My friend and me had come here by walking through forests from Sennhof and we continued walking from here just before the beginning of the night in direction of the outskirts of Winterthur. We had made a reservation on that lovely summer evening and this was definitely necessary, since the place completely filled up. People come here by private car, although taxi would be possible as well, if one feels like drinking, but there is no public transport. There is a traditional building at 'Eschenberg ' (Ash Mountain), but only the casual looking outdoors were open, with chairs and tables of metal and plastic in the colour red. A very friendly and professional waitress took care of us, who said, when we asked, that she was a Czech. Always smiling, well informed and quick, although being terribly busy. Our choice had been, after a 'Saurer Gespritzter ' as an apero, for my friend a 'Hausgemachter Hackbraten ' from the daily menu, while I went for a 'Zanderfilet ' (fiilet of Pikeperch) with vegetables and roasted potatoes. There was a creamy sauce with the fish, according the menu card with prosecco. As a wine we went for a rosé. The waitress said that they have 'Oeuil de Perdrix ' from western Switzerland, but then she brought an excellent Rosé, probably made the same way with Pinot Noir, by a local winemaker from the village of Neftenbach outside Winterthur: 'Nadine Saxer Nobler Rosé '. My friend, who lives in this area, said that this young winemaker lady has made a great name for herself already."
