"I have been going to this area for 16 years during the summer, and every year take at least one set of visitors to visit this historic village. Its got some lovely shops and lots of artisans, a pretty port, and some great restaurants and creperies. This restaurant has a fantastic lakeside position, so this is where i go and also the Restaurant du Port. On this visit, i arrived with my two girlfriends, there were two other tables of diners, so i should have been alerted by that alone. I asked to sit at one of the empty lakeside tables, the surley waiter said it hadnt been laid!! I asked if it was possible he laid it for us...... He grudgingly agreed, but was obviously not happy, after all its such a hard job, and the poor man was rushed off his feet!! He then served two kir royals, in totally different size glasses! Making one way smaller than the other, we asked why this was and can have have two of the correct size, which was the larger! He said that wasnt him, it was the drinks waiter, wh he didnt ask to come over, i had to walk over to him to explain, he the. Removed the smaller glass and replaced it, not at all happy either! We ordered the menu, which consisted of a tiny two spoon mousse, which was very nice, but very small! The the local speciallity, filets du perch with a lemon sauce, which was not at all memorable, and dry, tiny bit of salad when normally a bowl of salad is bought to the table, and small amount of sauce. Creme brullee was dessert, which was nice. We had two bottles of still water, it was 150 euro! Totally overpriced for what we had, needless to say there was no tip. Will never go back, and have alerted all my friends in the area that its gone very downhill. I shall still to Restaurant du Port. I was embarressed as my friends were visibly shaken by the price....... Whate a shame for such a perfect location"

"We went to Yvoire on a day trip from Geneva. We arrived with a few hundred passengers and Yvoire was already very busy. We hadn't made reservations but a table for 2 was found for us in the corner of the garden. I was a little concerned that we may be forgotten as there was a large party of about 20 sat at 4 tables near us. I shouldn't have worried. The service was excellent. We opted for the set fish menu at e28 pp, a delicious salmon terrine to start, Le filet à la Crème d’Echalote for a main with finely chopped vegetables and black rice and ice cream for pudding. A lovely relaxed dining experience in busy but beautiful surroundings"
