"Randomly closed?? Went there at a normal dinner time (5:45 pm), and 3 cars were lined up in the drive thru. After several minutes we all started leaving because nobody answered. I parked my car and went to the front door, only to find it locked withall the employees hanging out in the lobby eating food and laughing at us trying to open the door. This is the second time nowI?ve gone during operating hours and the employees had locked up and refused to serve anybody. What a waste of time!"

"Updating since the Oakland store closed: stopped by today at the SF location and picked up an order to go. Got the Cajun spicy chicken, fried shrimp, rib ends, smoked sausage (now my favorite), baked beans, potato salad, collards (best I've ever had, vegan or otherwise) and smackaroni. This stuff is magic. Every bite.Original review: Heard about this place and decided to swing by on our way back home from a road trip north. Outdoor seating. Order at the window. Tri-tip ends were crunchy and chewy like I like and the brisket was great. Fried chicken was so close it actually satisfied my craving. The Mac and Cheese was perfect, the Greens were the best I've ever eaten and I grew up in SW Louisiana. I went vegan on Jan 1 and this is hands down my favorite meal in 8 months. Whoever's recipes these are, is a f-ing wizard. I wish there was a cookbook. Killer vibe on the block where this place is. Very cool neighborhood. "One of the worst dining experiences ever. I arrived at the door at 4:30 p.m. I stood at the hostess stand for several minutes after watching a waitress walk through the bar area and not even acknowledge me or send anyone to acknowledge/greet me. After 10-12 minutes a waitress finally approached and said I could find a seat at the bar. I then sat there for over 10 minutes before I flagged down a waitress. She then said she wasn 't my waitress but she could take my order. She takes my order and delivers the worst $5.00 Happy Hour margarita. I order the cheese sticks. The cheese sticks tasted like they were frozen and warmed up in a microwave or baked in a toaster oven. Then I order the scrimp scampi after waiting another 10 minutes for the appetizer. The scrimp scampi arrives lukewarm. Instead of angel hair pasta it was made with spaghetti pasta. The sauce was brown and even the waitress said, yea the sauce shouldn 't be brown ... the food sucks here and I would go to Jack 's restaurant across the street."

"Friendly customer service. Delicious food (much better than L&L in my opinion). Huge portions. Great prices. The downside is the location. Parking is difficult to find. I find that it's best to call in an order and have someone drop you off and then pick you up when you have the food."
