"Maybe the rent is higher on Front street but the prices were a bit high for a sushi restaurant. I felt theres plenty of other sushi places downtown that would taste better and fresher for the same price (or cheaper). Food didn't wow me like other places."

"This is the best sushi place in Toronto, especially for the price. If you are a true sushi connoisseur, someone who loves sea urchin, fatty tuna and other incredible fish, this is the place.A Japanese friend introduced me to the chef's off the menu special. Whenever I call in an order, I ask for the Tomoko special. $38 dollars for whatever the chef has that day....a combination of nigiri and maki. I've gotten raw sweet baby shimp nigiri, sea urchin nigiri, real crab meat california rolls, fatty tuna with 24K gold, the list goes on and it's always a treat. I've had this calibre of sushi at Tojo's in Vancouver for 3 times the cost. It comes with fresh wasabi and the best soy sauce ever!My partner, who isn't a sushi eater, loves their special fried chicken. The ladies who work there may say they don't have chicken but ask them to ask the chef. It is amazing with their own spicy mayo.I have eaten in the space, there are 2 tables for 2, and the service was great. The Tomoko special came out in 3 courses and totally delicious.Best sushi for the best price in Toronto, if not all of Canada.My only tip is that the chef is always running behind. If you need to pick up for 5pm, tell him 4:30. Your patience will be well rewarded. I have ordered 6 portions for a dinner party at home and it has been a constant request from foodie friends."

"EXCELLENT FOOD. I tried the chili tuna, the chilean sea-bass, ex-girlfriend and the bomb last time at Noka and it was amazing!! the service was also really good and i did not regret to try this new japanese restaurants which is on Bloor street where there are tons of other japanese restaurants in this area only. All in all, good job for NOKA, see you soon again :"

"My wife and I came here for an early Valentines Day dinner, with really high hopes seeing a lot of the reviews this place was getting. Sadly it was an overall horrible experience. It is a very loud restaurant to start, one of those one speaker blaring fairly audible beats. Which makes everyone have to yell over it to speak to whomever they came with. It is also very tiny, and despite making reservations 3 weeks prior, we were crammed into a tiny table between two other couples. So the atmosphere is bad, but it got worse as we waited well over an hour to get our food without being check in on by the waitress. Eventually the food came and to put the cherry on top of an overall disaster of a meal the food was just plain bad. I had a flank steak that was chewy and tasteless, which came with coconut rice (which was obviously just minute rice) and a duck egg on top of the whole thing that was uncooked. My wife had pineapple rice inside of half a pineapple (get it! get it! you can instagram it! It tastes absolutely horrible, but it will look cool when you tag this restaurant in it!!). Needless to say we only ate half of it and left feeling like a downtown Burger King would have been more romantic with better food. This is a total flash in the pan, gimmicky restaurant that will be completely shut down once more inevitable bad reviews come pouring in. Save your money and save your night by not going to this disaster. Wait till it goes belly up, maybe the next place will know how to cook rice...."

"I went there with my husband and my 14 month old baby this week and we ordered a few things from the AYCE including the chicken fried rice. The fired rice came really fast but there were some bigger pieces of chicken was not cooked through, it was completely RAW in the middle. We told the waiter and he came back said it was not raw, just tendon. At that point they've already took the dish away, but it was a big piece of chicken pink in the middle RAW! No manager came to the table, No further expansions. We got completely turned off and did not want to eat there any more. There charged us FULL PRICE for two person and saying they took off my green tea. What a joke. If you don't wanna go to a restaurant (Sushi especially) don't care about their food quality, avoid this restaurant at all cost!"

"BEST Sushi EVER!. I live in Whitby with friends in Toronto and I always make it a point that we eat at Sushi on Roncy. This is honestly the best sushi I've ever had. The seaweed is nice and crisp, the seafood is very high quality and, duh, is tastes awesome! My favourite would definitely be the Go Train Roll, it's absolutely delicious. I LOVE Sushi on Roncy!"
