"Starting off with a drink at the Prospect of Whitby gave my German friend an introduction to a part of London not often visited by people from overseas. I had prebooked the Lashka Bay in preference to those upmarket umpteen star pretentious establishments in the West End which in any case seem to serve fusion food. My German visitor wanted the real thing and so did I. We were not disappointed.We were met by a friendly ,genuine Indian Cockney who patiently explained the dishes to us for there were some with which I was not familiar We were given plenty of time to choose over some fresh, crisp pappaddums and pickles. The food was excellent. Tasty, well presented and served. All in all a very enjoyable meal in nice surroundings with friendly staff. Highly recommended. I will certainly return when next in London. I was born in Limehouse but have lived many years in the Midlands and am fascinated to see how this part of of the East End has developed"
