"This is hands down my favorite legit Japanese restaurant so far. My only regret is not discovering it sooner. We dined here for Mother's Day and ordered a lot of items on the menu. My ultimate favorite was their special california maki. At P450 it's the most expensive california maki I've ever had but since it has more mango slices, with even spicy salmon tartare as toppings, I felt that every peso was worth it. The serving was very generous. Ordered a sushi platter of course which was amazing because the fish was fresh. Service was great as well and very efficient. Their spicy salmon and tartare were really delicious and worth noting too. Already daydreaming about coming back."

"[Disclaimer: Late post.]<br> <br> I’ve been eying to visit Mangetsu for quite some time and since some of my friends and I finally found a date where we’re all free, I took it as a reason for us to all go to that Japanese restaurant.<br> <br> Konnichiwa, Mangetsu!<br> <br> I was a bit scared that we might not have seats given we're meeting on a Saturday so I made sure to reserve a table for 6 the day before. I was expecting a full house but there were still a few tables left vacant when we arrived. <br> <br> I love that they welcomed me by first name. It made me feel like a regular customer. ????<br> <br> It took us quite some time to decide on what to order as there were a lot to choose from. I noticed that they even have a menu for cheese dishes! *Calling all cheese lovers!* <br> <br> After a few more minutes, we finally ordered the following: Deep-Fried Breaded Prawns (PHP490), Karaage Fried Chicken Thighs (PHP380), Cheese Gyoza (PHP320), Salmon Sashimi (PHP430), California Maki (PHP250/wrap roll... <a class="read-more" href="#">read more</a>"

"Somehow, I didn't really appreciate this visit. it was a really long waiting time, due to the high amount of people who were there. we were there for the lighter, like many people. do they feel the holiday fire with the traffic? the amount would of course also be dinner. we thought we would avoid them by eating early; but the plan was filmed! looung line! we tried. our order lasted very long to serve. now, this is the time of the year to be expected. our commands were typical: gyoza, maki, bark-saving, gyudon. eating was not bad, they only feel that the servers were so tired. I felt for her."

"This place used to be fantastic! What happened? They replaced their delicious vegan and vegetarian options with animal body parts. If I wanted a heart attack I would had gone straight to Jollibee. Skip this place altogether and try Fafafel Yo! next door."

"You were eating great, as well as your coffee. my friend had her kouign amann who was soft and sweet, simple-the-right sweet. the baked was also big enough for the price. I should have her mocha, but unfortunately it was not available. I had to order her cappuccino as my always second choice (awww). the ambiente of the caffes was also pleasant. good place to study and have their time. I think, however, that the employees or their own, whoever they are, were not kind. as their show of a poker face. it seems they don't want to bring us. That's why I gave only 3.5. (so tries to give it a 3.0 if I think of their coworkers, argh) thank you for the free ice cream...read more"

"For lunch, we decided to go Japanese. &nbsp;Located in Ayala, Makati, Tempura Japanese Grill is really fighting for its brand as it is located in a busy street of Makati with a lot of famous restaurants beside it. &nbsp;I could say that they're doing a fair fight.&nbsp;<br> I love how they cooked Tempura to crisp. &nbsp;Batter was light and airy. &nbsp;<br> <br> Tonkatsu with Cabbage Salad - The breaded pork was fried to golden brown. It was tender and the sauce gave it more flavor. I really enjoy this dish. <br> <br> Yakisoba - Generous amount of vegetables, pork and seafood all in one plate. It was delicious but I just find this dish too oily.&nbsp;<br> <br> Honey Miso Glazed Salmon - The fresh and juicy Salmon with sweetness of honey sauce. &nbsp; This one is a must try.&nbsp;<br> <br> All in all, this place offers good Japanese food but unlike any other Japanese restaurants I've tried, they need to improve just a tiny bit. <br><br><a href="https://www.zomato.com/spoonback?u=https%3A%2F%2Fanjcolumna.wordpress.com%2F&amp;r=30853237&amp;to=5775251&amp;k=8591b149d4ef6a204010d5c138d914d1" target="_blank"><span class="left red-text">anjcolumna.wordpress.com</span><span class="grey-text left ml5" data-icon="ŧ"></span></a>"

"Went there around 7pm. The place was not yet full the staff weren't too busy yet. So we went in took our seats. We waited a bit for any of the waiters to approach us but no one did. They just passed by us a few times. They didn't even give us a menu. After a few minutes later, we noticed 2 people, who just came in, were given a menu and we were just there waiting for any waiter to approach and offer their menu. We were just ignored by any of the staff. The receptionist who let us in just passed us by 3 times didn't even bother to check if we were already served. We waited long enough that we already got disappointed of their service knowing that ths place wasn't too busy. So we just...read more"

"Riozen is a very good restaurant and worth your consideration. I lived in Japan for 5 years as a working exchange student and this resto is one of the closest you can get to capture the authentic taste and food of a down town Izakaya in Tokyo. The Japanese Chief is always there supervising the staff and their dishes are not only a wide variety but also very close to taste of the resto bars in Japan. In fact The very fact that the restaurant is patronised by more Japanese customers than local filipinos shows that the restaurant is authentic. &nbsp;<br> <br> I respectfully disagree with the other reviews. There was one reviewer comparing the prices of Dampa with Riozen, thats unfair as Japanese restaurants usually command a premium because of the craft involved in cooking Japanese dishes. There is no Japanese restaurant out there that have the same seafood prices as Dampa (which is basically a market place). A cook in Dampa cannot compared to a authentic Japanese Chief in skill and their dishes have a difference in taste."
