"Not a fancy romantic restaurant, now called Indian Cottage, but what they have is generous portions, really well-cooked food (flavourful but not too spicy), and outstanding service. I found the butter chicken too sweet but my partner loved it. We both thought the lamb saag was a standout. We will definitely be back!"

"The Buffet Hut has only recently opened as a buffet style Indian restaurant. It still needs a little tweaking but we definitely will return. The décor is modern with a large TV that shows Bollywood movies. You pay as you enter and your drinks order...is taken at the same time. My opinion is that the drinks order should be taken after you sit down and then the drinks bill can be paid when you are leaving. Pricing wise it is very reasonable at $18.99 per person. Staff were very friendly and obliging – nothing was too much trouble. The buffet was set out like buffets I encountered whilst travelling in India so thought it was very authentic. The buffet included poppadums, pickles, rice, samosas, vegetable pakoras, dhal, several vegetarian curries, butter chicken, lamb curry, chicken curry, tandoori chicken and fish pieces. All very tasty but not too spicy, in fact, I felt the dishes could have had a little more spice. Nan bread and paratha bread are cooked to order. Water is available self-serve from a sink in the buffet area – polystyrene cups are provided – again I felt the restaurant should provide glasses and jugs. Desserts overall were ordinary – watermelon, apple, Madeira cake, lamingtons, two jellies, rice custard (this was delicious) and a scoop of either vanilla, strawberry or chocolate ice-cream. The other issue we had was considering there were only 7 diners staff did not clear the dirty plates – we ended up putting them on an empty table. As you leave the restaurant mouth freshener spices are available – something else very common in India These issues are just teething troubles that all new restaurants encounter. I’m sure they will all be sorted out. For a very reasonable price you receive a fresh and tasty meal with friendly staff to assist."
