"Shibui has traditinal tatami seating on the second floor which I highly recommend. However if you are not used to it or have hip/knee issues it can be uncomfortable but they do offer regular tables on the first floor. It can get very busy for dinner so it helps to have reservations before hand.The food was good with a large selection. I recommend the eggplant appetizer, it was surprisingly delicious. The sushi was fresh, although the sushi rice had a bit more vinegar than some are used to. I recommend Shibui for special occasions as it is a fun experience!"

"Avg place, good for the price. Nothing special. items ordered: salmon skin hand roll very good beef teriyaki bento box avgchicken suyikyaki surprisingly good. salmon skin roll was not good, rice was mushy and made w/ too much water. salmon skin inside was dry and seemed microwaved.Service can be better. Asked for hot water and they forgot. We had to ask again.Overall, this place isn't expensive compared to other restaurants in the bay area so can't complain too much. You get what you pay for. If you are okay w/ that and are hungry and in a rush....maybe come here. Maybe."

"This place was full at 5:15 a.m. in a Monday we had to wait 20 minutes to take place. delicious udon and incredible veggie suppe, but expensive at $14. tons vegan roll, but they were a bit dry. but still delicious. rolling were a reasonable $6 for the vegans."

"This was the first sushi restaurant I ate at in SF. I've eaten at so many more here, and others around the world. This place is such a humble little STAR. Always clean, always fresh and always such a delight. The staff is warm and friendly. The service is honest and genuine. With the prices being so reasonable too, there is no other place I'd rather eat sushi at. I make it a point to visit every time I'm downtown!"

"We went for Charlotte Restaurant week and enjoyed the food but the overall experience and the service was poor. We were seated on time for our reservation but after an hour of being at the table we got our first course. Some of us were having habachi and some just sushi but nothing came out together. Everyone was eating at different times. The restaurant was extremely hot and our server was very slow to get us what we needed after we had to ask for it. The waitstaff and the person who seemed to be the manager actually were very unprofessional and it seemed the restaurant was run by incompitent people."
