"Popular with locals, this simple old coffee shop is a box of a room with a counter, Formica and chrome tables, and a wall filled with historical city photos. It makes no effort to be sweet, but it is usually cheerful with animated chatter and is famous for breakfast served until 11:25 (on Sunday everything is served all day). Freshly squeezed orange juice is always available. The menu is the classic American fare, which at noon BLTs and ALTs, The Bird Special Sandwich (drilled turkey, bacon and Swiss cheese on sourdough) and one of the fattest, messiest and yummiest burgers I have eaten for a long time (the owner grinds the meat and makes the rolls of scratches). When the waitress gave me my burger, she warned: “Good luck with it!” For my side I have the really crispy and fat-free homemade potato chips, but cottage cheese and peaches, Makkaroni sala"

"11/3/22 The beet (yes, beet not beef) Carpaccio is a favorite and the Chef's Seasonal Special, the German appetizer, very good! 6/26/22 The Spinach and Duck Confit Salat was amazing! 2022 I like the seasonal variety of the menu here! You can see their weekly menu on their website. Easter 2022 We had today the brunch, the huge Brussels sprout salad and the Mexican Oaxaca Scrambble. A little on the spicy side and not to fill. 3/19/22 We had an excellent dinner here tonight! The small dinner salad, Beet Carpaccio, shoes ring fries with herbs and garlic, and the excellent Corned beef and cabbage. The latter made even better when served on a hot plate! 2/14/22 The Lamb Stew and Salad were excellent for me, but without vegan options on the menu is bound for us."
