"I 'll start with a disclaimer this is solely regarding dinner, not the cooking lessons that take place at this establishment. We sort of observed those lessons from the flank but were not involved.Anyway, we 've been passing this fairly new addition to the area for a while and decided to try it out.Came in at 7 and were immediately seated by the attending server who was both the host and the waitress.She cheerfully informed us of the menu, gave us some water and let us know that alcohol is not served here but we were welcome to pop in the liquor store next door and get a bottle no extra charge. What a bargain, we thought, so we did get one.The interior resembles a mess hall or a college cafeteria but not in a bad way. It creates a nice, welcoming mood.Food here is an interesting phenomenon. The word my wife used was original . It is obvious that someone is trying hard to make it look and taste like restaurant food but one of the elements is missing. For example, the ravioli were very nicely presented, but their skins were chewy even though they were not thick. The carbonara was a mass held together by a slightly grainy sauce very edible but definitely not restaurant level, kind of like something one would produce after watching a how to YouTube video. Similarly, the pear and gorgonzola salad was sort of placed together on the dish but the ingredients just had no common purpose, lacking that final professional touch. Thanks to the corkage free wine though, everything went down well and I can 't say it was bad.Dessert was an attempt at tiramisu a small Mason jar with a few crumbs on the bottom, topped with sweetened whipped mascarpone. Again, it was eaten but tiramisu it was not. The fruit crumble was sweet and had sliced apples. That 's all I can say about it.All in all this was a good experience and even though I wouldn 't repeat it, I 'd recommend it to anyone who wants to have an inexpensive dinner with an unmarked up wine of your choice : . I would stick to focaccia and antipasti and go for dessert to another place.This is definitely a restaurant that has its own place and public and I think it will continue to do well."

"After spending a disappointing weekend in San Diego during a heat wave going to Nick's in Del Mar was an absolute treat. Our server Mark was quick to give us much needed water and his descriptions of menu items was poetic. We enjoyed a light meal of filet mignon paired with tasty tortilla soup and salad. We really enjoyed our experience."

"Wow... Very pleased with this place. Our server Ripken was great. Very attentive, helpful, and energetic. The food was full of flavor. Sometimes when we go for ramen the base flavor of the broth taste the same with very little difference. The broth here has distinct flavors. We got the Classic ramen with pork. The broth was a nice creamy, flavorful tonkotsu broth with black garlic oil, bean sprouts, spinach, green onion, nori, and a soft boiled egg. We added corn andgarlic to it as well. The pork was very tender and pretty large piece. We also got the garlic truffle with pork. This was also full of flavor and the noodles in this dish was perfect. A little thicker noodles then the classic. The noodlehad a little chewier texture, which I really liked. The egg was perfect medium cooked. We also got gyoza. You get a choice of fried or steam. We chose fried. The filling was also full of flavor. All our food came out really fast and weenjoyed the atmosphere too. It was nice, fun, and inviting. We will be going back."

"As The Counter goes, this one isn't great. Very limited menu, mediocre food, not great service. I ended up just getting sweet potato fries and a coke... only to find out the coke dispenser was out of syrup. I told the guy at the counter who seemed uninterested. The fries were over cooked. Not a lot of choices for food here and ghey will stay busy because of that, not because they're good."

"My bloody Maria was good, had to send my steak back, ordered medium rare, got well done. The egg in brioche was delicious. My gf's avocado toast and poached eggs were good and spicy. Overall, a little pricey for the quality, but the live DJ made it worth it, would definitely come again. Also, bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary's."

"The problem with this place is the way they making pizza ???? we order twice and both times it?s was a very bad pizza ???? One time they didn?t had enough cheese ???? on the pizza and the second time I toke this picture I be wish they someone that care about costumers service and responded to my first email of complaints for this pizza ?"

"Went into the store and asked for recommendations. Ultimately I ordered the Greens 3 (apple, cucumber, celery, lemon, spinach, ginger, kale, parsley), Avocado Greens Smoothie (apple, celery, cucumber, banana, avocado, spinach, lemon, kale, spirulina, matcha), Roots 3 (apple, lemon, ginger, beet), Citrus 2 (apple, pineapple, lemon, mint) and then I got 2 lemonades: mango turmeric lemonades (mango, lemon, monk fruit, turmeric) and 2 strawberry basil lemonades (strawberries, monk fruit, lemon and basil). My favorite was the Strawberry Basil Lemonades as well as the Avocado Greens."
