"San Juan del Rio is not an obvious tourist attraction: it is an agreeable enough town (with a reasonably pretty, if unexceptional, colonial core) and a major industrial centre, but most people would skip it for the nearby Queretaro or Tequisquiapan. Had our car not broken at the entrance to the city, we would have not stopped this time either: as we have not done in years traveling down the route. The greater is our surprise to discover this wonderful Indian place so completely out of the way. The menu is small, but well thought through, the dishes are very authentic - and simply very well prepared, betraying the owners' professional culinary training. And the prices are surprisingly modest: in Mexico City even an inferior Indian meal would set you back more than twice what you would pay here. It is, definitely, a treat: not, perhaps, worth traveling all the way from Mexico City, but, definitely something you might want to do if you are staying in Tequis or even Queretaro, and most definitely a reason to stop when passing San Juan. We will, certainly, try to come again."

"Great food, great atmosphere, great customer service, great and friendly owner. I was in town for business and decided to stop by for dinner. Grabbed a quick cab ride from the Hampton Inn and had a wonderful dinner. Highly recommend. Steak and wine, it doesn't get any better. The owner personally help with setting up transport back to the hotel. Great night."
