"I am writing two contrasting reviews right now. One where the service was awesome and the food pig ordinary (Steak ‘n’ Shake, Madrid and the other where the service was appalling and the the food very good (this one . And by service I am referring to the attitude of staff rather than the broader aspects of service (timeliness, accuracy of menu/offers, etc. . In this particular eatery, we arrived to be greet by a youngster who looked like he wanted to be anywhere else. He soon went and got his mum, although he also assisted in the serving during our meal. His mother (the relationship is an assumption was clearly not happy about having us in the restaurant. Whether that was because we were the only customers and she now had to do some work, or whether it was because we were speaking in Spanish instead of Euskadi, or whether it was because we were foreigners, or whatever, we will never know. She was nothing short of rude in every encounter. Another table came in, and she treated them with much more civility. Curious at the very least. The food on the other hand could not be faulted. The presentation was excellent, and they’ve invested in some great crockery that is perfect for this style of meal. We had the menu del dia and it is excellent value. I want to go back and try more of the menu. But guess what… if you don’t want us there, we hear the message. We will not be returning."

"Entrance is wheelchair accessible, but then 4 steps up to tables. Loos not accessible. We opted for the set menu which was not easy as it was only in Spanish so there was a fair but of guesswork Google! My husband had the rice noodles to start, a bowlful and little else besides; I had cucumber , I think, seaweed it was okay. We both had the prawns which were in a popcorn batter and sweet sour sauce. Flavour was fine, just not quite what we expected. Dessert for me was a refreshing fruit salad and my husband had I pina colada on a plate I.e. sliced pineapple and coconut ice cream both went down well."
