"My son in Madison took me here for fathers day lunch with family. Not a lot of room for dining and assume take out meals main portion of the business. Spring rolls were fresh and food was delicious with nice portions. Very satisfied!"

"I forgot to take pictures but trust me the food is amazing! We had an order of the mussels which was small but the broth was fantastic. I wish they gave you maybe 6 more for the price. Also had the Pik Pow which is now one of my favorite Asian dishes of all time. The sauce is sweet and spicy and was soooo good! Service is always friendly and everything I've had here is fantastic."

"Sala Thai has really good food. Really happy to have them in the neighborhood and I particularly like their Sunday special and other things I have gotten have been good as well. Good spice, flavor, and portions. Where they lose a star is their service/speed. I saw another review where they assumed they only start cooking once they open, and I feel like that may be accurate. Now, I'm not expecting this to be fast food, but if you get a take out estimate, you probably should double the time before you expect the food. That same logic probably applies to in restaurant dining. Be prepared to wait. If you have the expectation that the food won't be ready for an hour twenty minutes, instead of forty like they say, then maybe it'll be easier to get to five stars. Definitely recommend for the food, but adjust your understanding of time before heading in."

"We love Lao Laan-Xang at their Williamson Street location, so I was excited to try their Atwood location. I'm happy to report the food was just as good! I'm not sure if there were differences in the menus themselves, but they seemed quite similar.<br>

Everything we ate was fresh with lots of complimentary flavors and textures. We enjoyed the pork egg-rolls and spicy sausage. The beef salad was spicy and amazing. The larp was outstanding. Like most southeast Asian food, the flavors were a mix of sweet, salty, sour, spicy, and everything was fresh. For either location, the food at Lao Laan-Xang seems to be spot-on.<br>

The main difference was in the atmosphere and the service. While the Williamson location has a quirky, I'm eating at my Lao neighbor's house feel, the Atwood location has a professional restaurant feel. It also has a more complete bar w/specialty cocktails. "Years ago, I had an employee who told me about this place. I missed my favorite Chinese spot China Star that was closed. China Cottage had never disappointed me and I have been here for years!!! Excellent, friendly service. Great tasteful food! I wish they would make it a buffet, maybe one or two days a week. The sweet tea is also excellent!"
