"For our last night at our friends' home in Nice, we decided to "go Oriental" and this neighborhood food deli was highly rated on Trip Advisor, plus near their flat, so off we went at 6 PM to get our evening meal for five people, including one strict-vegetarian. "Traiteur" in French means delicatessen, not restaurant, and that is what Huy Traiteur is - Vietnamese food to go. You can eat there - perhaps 2 tables plus a standup bar - but I do not recommend it although the interior was modern & spotless. Parking is non-existent and at 6 PM this is a busy city street. Also, contrary to what we expected, the food is all pre-prepared and served cold in plastic containers. (a micro-wave lovers paradise!). There was a waiting line even though it was Wednesday but also August and most were travelers, perhaps in Nice's well-known "furnished" studios... The food was OK - I do not know how this place got to be listed 3rd of ALL Nice's 1,000+ restaurants (do they have friends who write reviews??) - and our French family especially liked the chicken curry. Alas, the Nems (egg rolls/spring rolls) had suffered from being in a cooler all afternoon; the flavor was there but they were tough, even the vegetarian ones. There was "chop suey" that was vegetarian and OK but at 6 PM they had run out of the pork caramel, Viet-Nam's best dish many feel and we were disappointed. The sweet-sour shrimp was so-so. All in all, a nice place for Viet-Namese cuisine but I suggest going earlier and buying lunch when things may be less "refrigerator old" and all the dishes advertised online remain for sale."

"We absolutely loved this restaurant!! Viewing the restaurant from the street you wouldn't know the gem that lies within. Cosy place, with simple, appropriate and beautiful decorations. Wonderful balance of elegance, art and simplicity for a comfortable dining experience. We were cheerfully greeted by the waitress, who also suggested a vegetarian option for the bo bun. We were also able to substitute tofu (which isn't listed on the menu), in different dishes. So we got tofu coconut curry that was absolutely delicious!! We felt welcome and not rushed to finish every time we were here. The vegetables were fresh and the food was light and overall a great dinner! We will definitely come back."
