"The experience here was less than satisfying. The waitress made sure to rattle off all of the prices for everything that she described. It was only noticeable because she didn't do it at any other table she served near us. Since we were the only people of color in the restaurant, I can only assume it was an issue for her. I then had another server adjust an A/C unit above me without say pardon me or excuse me. The unit then began to drip on my wife and I. We requested to be moved and were eventually. This was our 24th wedding anniversary and dinner was a bust."

"Quintessential classic charming steakhouse. Being from Maine, I'm always skeptical about crab cakes. But the ones at Sullivan's were absolutely amazing. Beautifully seasoned tastefully paired with the light slaw; they were delicious! The Restaurant heard it was my birthday and tastefully and beautifully and thoughtfully decorated the table...it was greatly appreciated. The steaks were cooked to perfection. Obviously high quality and truly seasoned by a mastered chef ....absolutely perfect. It was really an amazing meal and the atmosphere and experience was wonderful."

"I have a bit of a pho fetish, so I was so excited to hear from this place. When I was finally able to eat here, I was very disappointed. it had a thick layer of fat floating on the top of the broth, and was almost tasteless. I'm sorry to say it was just a diluted version of what should be Vietnamese eating, which is a bad representation."

"Wowed by the Korean dishes. I've eaten at Dragon House several times. Sometimes I have sushi (which has always been good), and sometimes I've ordered from the Chinese menu (also solid choices). Today I ventured over to the Korean menu page. I'm not very experienced ordering Korean food, but I opted for the seafood and tofu soup, which proved to be a real bargain, and very enjoyable.
My soup came in a large bowl, together with 6 smaller bowls of accompaniments, including sticky rice, seasoned diced potatoes, raw onions, broccoli and peanut sauce, some sort of wafer shaped cabbage and kimchi. There was much more tofu in the soup than seafood, but it has a wonderful taste. There was almost too much to finish.
This unassuming neighborhood Asian place seems to be attracting a loyal following, whether it be for their Chinese, Japanese or Korean dishes. Or possibly all three. It is located directly east of Westroads mall.

-----27 Oct, 2013-----
New Menu. Dragon House Asian restaurant has a new, somewhat expanded menu, featuring an expanded list of Korean offerings (now 16 items). Many of the Chinese menu items are available in either smaller or larger portions, and we were assured that we could order either one at dinner.
I sampled the Korean Jampong, which is described on the menu as a spicy seafood noodle soup. Being wary of how spicy some Korean foods can be, I asked for less spice in mine. It was very good, and with just enough seasoning to give it a bit of zing, without knocking me out of my chair. The portion size was huge. Given that it also came with a cup of soup, and we split a fried dumpling appetizer, it was more than I could finish.
The sushi menu has also been expanded to over two dozen options. Three bento boxes are also offered. While the owners are Korean, the sushi offerings are decent, and a real bargain. The orange chicken I sampled off the Chinese menu was also top notch.

-----07 Aug, 2013-----
Eating good in my Hood. The Westroads neighborhood has plenty of good Asian restaurant options. Now a new kid has set up shop on the block. And he has a lot to offer lovers of Asian cooking.
Dragon House, located in Clocktower Village, doesn't look like much from the outside. I have driven by it often and felt no great desire to walk through the doors. But when a groupon was offered we bought it, and decided to try it for a midweek dinner when hunger for Chinese food gnawed at our stomachs.
We were pleasantly surprised from the moment we set foot inside. First of all, the restaurant is quite stylish, although still perfect for casual dining. Secondly, it is much larger than I would have imagined, with two separate dining rooms, seating perhaps 75 or 80 in total.
Third, and most importantly, the food really shined. Dragon House offers a menu with its home base in China, but one that touches down in Korea and Japan, with a side trip to American Chinatowns of yesteryear. You like egg fu yung? They have it, in a variety of incarnations. All of your standard Americanized Chinese dishes are offered as well, plus Asian summer rolls more typical of Vietnam, a handful of Korean entrees, and two pages of sushi offerings.
We sampled as much as we could. The hot and sour soup was really good, more spicy hot than most others I have sampled. The pan fried dumplings and summer roll were excellent appetizer choices, each delicious in its own way. I had both a small portion of Hunan shrimp as well as a 10 piece spicy salmon roll from the sushi menu. Both were tasty, though I suppose I have had better elsewhere. The General Tso's Chicken got rave reviews from my dining companion.
The restaurant has added bento boxes to the menu, though no one told us, and we were too far from the back of the restaurant to read the backlit sign on the back wall. Oh well, next time!
I like that virtually all cooked dishes are served in both smaller and larger portions, and both sizes are available any time. The smaller portioned size is perfect for most appetites, especially since they each come with soup.
Prices are rock bottom, even by neighborhood Chinese restaurant standards, and especially considering this isn't a plain Jane storefront operation,
A final word about our server. I didn't catch her name, but she was most helpful, and filled us in on some of the background of the place. It is Korean owned and operated. And our server doubles as the restaurant DJ, as she mixed all of the background music, which could be described as mellow urban club music. We were surprised to learn that it is all of Korean origin. You might call it urban Seoul music, I suppose. It gives the restaurant a fun, up tempo vibe.
Since I live in the neighborhood, I am really happy to discover another great place to go where you don't have to get dressed up to eat well.
And that truly is music to my Seoul.
Food: A-
Atmosphere: A-
Service: A-
Menu Sophistication: B+
Value: A+"
