"Found on trpadvisor, 6 mins from where we were staying. Ordered over the telephone and it was ready for pick up by the time I got there. All very tasty and they threw in some mini spring rolls which were tasty and a nice touch. Of note they only take cash and there isnt a cashpoint nearby (luckily I checked when ordering)."

"Annual Visit to where I had memorial to my late husband. Wanted to try something new. It was a very disappointing experience. Fish was nice, so were mushy peas but chips were cold inedible. I quietly spoke to a member of serving staff at bar. The food was returned promptly hotter but I suspect the chips had merely been reheated. They were hard, misshapen felt like they’d been reheated countless times. I left them uneaten. I have given 2 stars for the simple reason staff member, a young man, who was polite, efficient pleasant. The prices are inflated because of location but food did not warrant cost. I would choose from menu carefully, if I ever returned but doubt I would."

"Ordered from this takeaway on the 24th of August 2021, wasn’t expecting too much in respect of quality however, The food was really nice, we ordered chicken balls, egg fried rice, chicken chow mein and mini vegetable spring rolls, it was all lovely very fresh and the chicken balls had proper lumps of chicken breast in them, it was a fantastic ratio of chicken to batter all topped with a lovely curry sauce that just finished the meal off. Not sure what it’s like inside the building as we ordered for home delivery but the young man on the desk appeared very pleasant on the phone and happy to take our order."

"Fitted us in last minute and so glad we tried. Very friendly attentive staff, great pint and food was delicious. Butternut squash rissoto was very well cooked and seasoned perfectly. Homemade burger was one of the best burgers I've had with loads of well cooked fries a bowl of dressed salad and coleslaw. All in all very tasty and very filling, unfortunately no room for desert.....give it a try but make sure you book."

"My wife and I fancied a takeaway following a return from a winter holiday, however our usual Chinese and Indian takeaways were closed. My wife spotted New Shanghai via a web search and we thought we would try somewhere new...and we were impressed. The website we ordered through suggested the order would be with us within the hour, however it arrived just 20 minutes after ordering, and given we live the opposite end of town, that's pretty fast. The lady who delivered the order was very friendly and cheerful. The food was plentiful and tasty...we ordered General Tso's Chicken, House Special Curry and a large Thai Fried Rice...the dishes were nicely spicy with fresh chilli pieces in the rice and a spicy sauce with the General Tso. Not only was it great food, but they provide free prawn crackers with orders over £10 and they also gave us a Chinese wall calendar for the New Year in with the bag. I was impressed. I am sure we will use New Shanghai again, based on this first order."
