"Always trust a chef for recommendations we were recommended Cavalariça by chef Ana Moura (Lamelas). Wow! First of all, it 's a really cool location set in an old horse stable. The menu is designed to allow each dish to be shared between 2 people. We couldn 't choose from all the great dishes, so we decided to go for the experience and let ourself be surprised pleasantly in this case! You can tell how much work the chefs put into each dish, all of them really well balanced in flavours. There wasn 't an official pairing, but our waiter who was really brilliant decided to serve us various glasses of wines he highly recommended. Each wine was a superb choice. One of our favourite dishes was the beet root salad (rare to see blue cheese used let alone in Portugal and it worked so well with the pear and beet root Gastrique). The whole team were attentive and very friendly, always ready to answer any questions about the food and drinks. Highly highly recommend this restaurant! Thank you for giving us an unforgettable experience team Cavalariça."

"The vintage atmosphere is great, it feels good to be there. The food was delicious and homemade. The owners were making a point in speaking in French with my family and in English with me. Juggling from one language to another, it was a lovely experience. We can see why this restaurant has not even one negative comment because one would have to really dig deep to find anything wrong with the place, the people and the food. We highly recommend."

"The rudest restaurant I have ever visited. After 20 minutes of being ignored I was ready to walk, unfortunately my wife insisted ! Blank faces when we entered.... 5 minutes until anyone asked us if we had a booking, then they were distracted.... another 5 minutes......the place was not even busy at this time. Not a smile, not hello.... nothing. Eventually We were offered a table so started another wait. I had to ask an absolute average of 4 times for anything.... a menu, a drink, anything had to be requested multiple times i honestly believe if we had not asked we would have been just left. The hostess was a miserable individual, why she thinks the service industry is for her ??? She gives the impression that she hates every paying customer that walks in.... she is only trumped by the senile geriatric gentleman placed in an armchair in the walkway .... Why ? I have nothing but sympathy for the man, he seemed very confused lost.... incredible ! But the waiting staff were a new level of useless ..... It was an incredible evening that we will laugh about for many years. BUT .... the food when you get it is VERY GOOD ..... some of the best we ate on this trip it is very affordable.... especially as they do not expect any form of tip, as if they know the service is non existent. The place is always busy because the food is good cheap, but if you want some service with a smile just keep driving. I loved the food, I hated the restaurant !"

"Top music from Cabo Verde. Nice atmosphere, nice people. Very tasty food. Consider it not as a traditional restaurant with tables and chairs. More tapas ambiance with low tables and sittings. Nice view on Rio Sado. A lot of starks, ducks flying along the Rio."
