"We first came to Rive Gauche in 2018 and had not been able to come back since, but it was our fault...we always went to Tavira on Tuesday, which is their closing day! But we managed it yesterday and I’m glad we did! The team is so enthusiastic about their place. We actually had the chef welcoming us and explaining us the daily specials, a very good tuna tataki for the wife and a special curry octopus rice (which was not in the choices, but the chef told me he could do it for me "

"Following the good reviews, we decided to go there for our last evening in Tavira. Service was bad. Half of the dishes we picked werent available anymore, as many others on the menu. Its best to let the customers know as you hand out the...menus. We then waited for over an hour, and the dishes came at different time. Letting your customers know about delays is the very least you can do. The meat and tuna was good. The octopus was rubbery, i had to give my partner my steak knife so she could cut it. The vegetables unseasoned and tasteless and the salad came with no dressing and edges were brown. As we paid , the waiter asked us about the meal. As we told him that it wasnt great, he said “ok” and left. Just as unwelcoming as he has been troughout the evening. We had some amazing food and service in Portugal. This was a big miss."

"We feel so fortunate to have been taken to this wonderful restaurant as we would never have found it on our own. We were served the most delicious authentic Portuguese dishes by Anna. My favourite was the pork in fig sauce. Or was it the lamb with quince and sweet potato??!! Charcuterie to start and a plate of delicious sweet treats to end. There is no menu and no choice. It’s just like eating at home but with dishes prepared by such a talented chef. It’s worth coming all the way to Portugal just to eat here. Oh, and did I mention the view? Stunning!"

"Great bar, great restaurant with quirky decor and fab terrace. The seafood tapas including octopus and wild prawns were a firm favourite. A must when in Cabanas. Have a drink at the bar first watching the delicious cocktail being prepared."
