"We went on a Swan Valley half day wine tour with lunch for my dads birthday, this place was recommended by the tour operator. From the initial booking the operator was trying to get us to pre order our meals.There was only 6 of us so we decided to choose on the day.When we were picked up, again we were asked to pre order. We were handed a flyer with only 3 items to choose from (Chicken Pie, ploughmans lunch & I think the black olive tart) None of these were appealing so we decided to order from the full menu once we arrived. As the flyer was all done up with the bus drivers logos and the driver was talking about how good the food was, I can only assume they get some kind of kick back or they know the owner. That is never a good sign and it was down hill from there.First impressions are good,the layout is nice and spacious. At 12.30 the cafe only looked like they had just opened and we were the first to arrive.No beers from the beer menu were available. The waitress recommended a Crystal beer which was not on the menu that will do, thank you. When we asked for a 2nd round we were told there was none left. We only ordered 3 for the table what do you mean none left. Initially we thought she was joking. No she wasn't, ok let that go.I thought yum Ill have the chorizo and smokey beans with baked egg & the curry plate for main. Sorry we are sold out of those menu items. Sold out you only just opened.Entrees around the table arrived fairly quickly most people ordered garlic bread.After an hour wait my 2 boys were getting very restless. All mains came out at the same time which is a good start. However, my sister and husbands steaks came out stone cold, dry, brown like they were cooked yesterday and microwaved. There was no sauce to accompany the steak, the mushrooms which were listed on the menu description were not there and the "oven" chips were still frozen solid (apparently they don't have a deep fryer).In 20 years I have never seen my husband spit out his food and take his plate back, NEVER. The food was appalling. They did take the cost of the steaks off the bill, while telling my husband that they are renowned for their steak. PfffAs most items "available" on the menu are puff pastry, I can only assume that they do not have a proper chef or kitchen. All menu items are made prior to the day and quickly microwaved or heated in the oven.In the end 2 people did not get meals at all, we did not get time for desert or get to sing Happy Birthday to my dad. We got back on the bus an hour late, still hungry and very disgruntled.After the tour company recommend this place, to add insult to injury they charged us an extra $80 for going over time.Steer clear of this place. The whole experience was very disappointing and expensive. They totally ruined my dads birthday. It is now one to remember for all the wrong reasons."

"Great place for lunch if you are in the Swan River Valley. It is about a 20 minute drive from downtown Perth. The food is interesting and if you are only interested in a light lunch, there is good choice in the entree selection to meet your need. The mains cover a lot of items with an excellent choice to cover all tastes. Excellent service. The wine tasting next door is complimentary for the whole group if you are eating there. You also get a 25% discount on any wine purchases by having a meal in the restaurant. Best value in the valley"

"We visited for lunch and see the menu for the Bastille Day celebrations.We both shared Squid with garlic and Spinach and to follow Confit Duck on polenta with French green beans. To drink we tried the Pinelli Shiraz. Excellent match to the Duck. See the pictures for the delightful meal. Hope to return soon for the Bastille Day celebrations."
