"We came after reading the reviews on TripAddisor. The dishes/desserts were good, the server was courteous. Small downside it was cold, I kept my jacket on for lunch. We are a little disappointed, given the comments we expected better."

"We had a lovely trip here 3 years ago and so thought we would enjoy a return visit when we came back to Cenac. We were very wrong. Granted, we arrived with no reservation but they didn't turn us away, offering us a table instead. We ordered drinks and food (just 2 mains) fairly smoothly, using the tick box order form we were given. After about 25 minutes we still hadn't received our food but the waitress came to offer us desserts or coffee! We said we were waiting for mains and she apparently went off to sort this - but another 20 minutes later and still nothing. Just as we were going to complain, a friendly waiter who was trying his best with English explained that there had been an error and our order was lost but he offered 2 drinks on the house and said it would be another 10 minutes or so. Another 25 minutes later and our food still hadn't arrived - despite tables near us completing meals in the interim - some of which had ordered not only after us but after we had been told about the delay in our food. We asked once more to be told that our order was just being started in the kitchen - we had had enough at this point and left - instead going to get a lovely take away from Lolos up the road who managed to serve us immediately! We appreciate it was a busy saturday night but the kitchen at La Guinguette clearly can't cope with the volume of orders. The only saving grace was the young man who was serving who was doing his best to get them in order, only to be shouted at by the kitchen staff. We had plans to enjoy ice creams there over our week and to use the attached canoe rentals but we won't be going near them again!"
