"This was first time at Wapo Taco and definitely my first time trying Tex-Mex food. I learned about the restaurant by their advertisement on Instagram, and decided to check it out since I was in the Hallandale Beach area. There's a menu posted by the entrance so you can look it over and know what you want before entering. The cost for the food is a bit pricey, ranging from $12-$25. For those ptices; the meals better come with a drink, an appetizer, and dessert...okay. There are soups, salads, burritos/chimichangas, quesadillas, fajitas, tacos (soft/hard), Wapo plate/bowl, beer wine, hot cold beverages, etc. Inside the restaurant was quiet and colorful with plenty of seating for the customers. I greeted a female employee the counter and placed my order of the chimichanga de carne to go. It was prepared very quickly...a big portion of tender steak with rice wrapped in a soft tortilla; and topped with sour cream, shredded lettuce, and diced tomato...served with some chips homemade salsa. It was pretty good. Eventually I will return to try something else...whenever I feel like indulging in Tex-Mex food."

"I had heard about this restaurant from a friend of mine who raved about it, so when my sister came into town, we decided to give it a try. To be honest with you, I had no idea it was even here, but I am sure glad I found it. We both had a couple of glasses of wine and complete dinners. I was surprised that the dinner included so many things for the we paid, but here’s what we had and what we thouht of everything. For starters, I had a gorgonzola salad. It was DELICIOUS! Garlicy and just the right amount of cheese. Sis had the red seafood chowder, and she said it had a nice kick that she wasn’t expecting. It was full of clams, and the broth was well balanced. Our main courses were the coconut shrimp, and a NY strip steak. We decided to share, and created our own surf and turf, if you will. The steak was well seasoned and cooked perfectly, and the shrimp was crisp and served with a delicious orange sauce. Our sweet potatoes were enormous, tasty and tender. The veggies were a tad bit overcooked, but not greasy and very flavorfull. For dessert, we splurged and split a piece of warm apple streudel. Well worth the calorie investment. When I went to the restroom, I was stunned by the intracoastal view. The moon was hitting it just perfectly, I felt I was on vacation instead of in my own neighborhood. Our server was attentive without being overbearing, and had great suggestions. The piano bar was such a nice touch, but not so loud that we couldn’t talk. Thank you for a wonderful night, and I have already made another reservation."
