"Ate here several times now not had a bad meal yet, slightly dearer than some places but you do get what you pay for, £55 for 5 adults (including drinks) at lunchtime isn't extortionate, certainly not frozen microwave specials either, well done would recommend to anybody."

"Such a real shame, this place used to be amazing and we loved going! Unfortunately after visiting recently for my partners birthday we had a terrible experience, awful service, food OK but not like it used to be (might have just been OK due to how long we had to wait and how hungry we all were) we arrived and we’re placed in the conservatory type room, it was EXTREMELY loud you couldn’t hear yourself think! With two elderly people in the family it was difficult for them and none of us were able to talk to each other therefore I asked the waitress if there was a possibility if we could move as the noise was just too much! There was a table sat next to us a group of girls who was just having a good time and we knew it wasn’t there fault for being loud but due to how the conservatory was built the noise just echos so everything sounds much louder.. the waitress then after speaking to us when straight to the table and started whispering whilst they all turned and looked at our table it made things so AWKWARD! None of us could then relax, the waitress did then come back and say another table had become available in the main building so we did move. Then the food well my dad is type 1 diabetic and it just took so long when we challenged how much longer it would take (as at this point we were so hungry and dad very low) the waitress did nothing more than print off the receipt and slap it on the table with our food and say look ‘only 40 minutes from placing the order’ no apology, no nothing. We were gobsmacked! Some of the food was just OK, some not great and when feeding back to the staff with specific details on why we weren’t happy they were very defensive again we got no apology. After spending over £200 in there, we got no recognition that we were really unhappy with our experience and some meals were not even touched. Unfortunately I won’t be going to the place ever again, and for future feedback I would be ensuring staff are trained on how to deal with negative feedback complaints appropriately."

"Visited last saturday with family for a meal, cannot fault anything, staff welcoming and helpful, good pub menu, kids as well, value for money, all food was really good, hot and tasty, good service and nice atmosphere, the open fire was really nice to see,...overall a great place to go. Well done to everyone we think you did a great job and we have told others, we will be back."

"Very poor. Sunday lunch. Veg was very undercooked I like a la dente but this was nearly raw. Teaspoon of mash. Chicken dry. Waitresses inexperienced and not attentive too busy drinking a cuppa! My drink after I had to ask sat on the bar for 15 mins fetched it myself. No lemon pie. It was only 12.40. 2 regular cokes a pint and a large wine £22. Won't be revisiting. Disappointing"

"Visited during May. The pub looks nice enough and the staff were pleasant, bar was really sticky! The menu is quite small, only three starters 6 mains. There are also burgers and light bites. We ordered starters and mains. The service was pretty slow and we waited (in my opinion) longer than average for the food. Starters were OK, soup not bad and prawn cocktail, about the same. Again, we waited longer than average for our mains surf and turf and a homemade pie. Both were nice, served with homemade fries. The scampi on the surf and turf was poor, very watery in the middle when i cut through it. Both quite pricey at £26 and £15. Although there was nothing massively wrong with either meal, we waited quite a while for food and I've definitely had better for similar price."

"Food was awful. I ordered the spicy hot link sausage flatbread and what came out was not what I ordered and didn't look like anything like the pictures on the menu. It was a flatbread alright but it was obvious everything had been microwaved. The bread was soggy, the sausages were not the jalapeno and cheese hotlinks but were just batch cooked all day breakfast sausages that had been microwaved and were burnt to a crisp. Revolting. Avoid."
