"This beautiful old house has a perfect setting with outdoor and indoor seating with surprising twists on the small menu. The service was outstanding, as was the food. The grilled cheese with egg on top was excellent. We ate until we were beyond full. Will definitely visit again"

"This was the best meal I've had out in some great deal of time! Absolutely amazing. We didn't have anyone to seat us and weren't sure if we seated ourselves or what, so we had to call because the staff cannot see past this giant cabinet that we were waiting. A lady did show up and seat us as soon as we began speaking with someone on the phone. Again the food was awesome, awesome. It wasn't slow but not crazy quick. They were very busy in the kitchen though. I cannot complain. I left with a big smile. I very seldom go inside to eat anywhere but will be back again. Probably this Friday after my Dr appt. Loved it!!!!"

"158 Main is a family style diner type place, and they make mostly everything from scratch. They have delicious homemade bread which they use for toast and for all their sandwiches, and they also sell it by the loaf. The portion sizes are HUGE, so you get a lot for what you pay. Staff is friendly and for the most part service is usually pretty quick, but really that depends on time of day and who is in the kitchen I think. We've gone and gotten our food quickly, but other times we've gone and felt like we waited a while so I think it all depends. I've only had dinner there twice (both times were good) and lunch there twice (yummy both times), however I've eaten breakfast there...read more"

"It's a nice restaurant with a beautiful lakeside view. The hostess was a little rude, forgot about us completely however another lady saw us waiting and offered to helped and got us a table outside. The young boy who served us was excellent, really a sweet kid with excellent manners. Food was good. Cocktails were also made well. My husband requested Mint Julep which was not on the menu. The bartender was able to make it (not to perfection but it's the effort which matters). The only suggestion I have is they should do something for the mosquitos. Maybe Tikki torch or candles on the tables will work. My both kids have mosquito bites all over their bodies."

"To start this off, I must put out there that this restaurant had little COVID protocols in place. We have eaten out at restaurants in Louisville which all had strict COVID protocols in place. It must an Indiana misfortune of medical negligence. We won’t be returning to Indiana for eating out. Had the red pepper soup which was very nice as a starter, husband had stuffed mushrooms which he loved. I wanted the veal marsala which they were out of veal but would have liked to been told that as we were presented with menus instead of having to go over menu again for another choice. Bad hostessing and management IMOP. The wine was ok. We both ordered the seafood with marsala over linguini. It was ok. The shrimp and calamari was overcooked in it and having to pry off the tails of shrimp while getting our fingers filthy With Marsala sauce didn’t sit well with us. The garlic rolls that accompanied the meal were not very garlicky. The size portion of entree was good. We ordered dessert chocolate mousse for hubby which came in the form of cheesecake like consistency and form, way to heavy to be called a mousse. Someone there needs to look up the definition of mousse. I put in for grand mariner soufflé when we put in our appetizer orders as requested on menu for enough time to make. When my soufflé came out it looked good, when spooning into it the top and sides were edible but the rest was way undercooked. I had to send back. They apologized and took it off our bill. Needless to say we won’t return."

"We were there to celebrate a friend's birthday. The food was delicious, I had the chicken with crab and asparagus. It was so good that I was not disappointed that I did not order the Hot Brown as my two dinner companions had ordered. The Hot Browns are always spot on for the best in Louisville and Southern Indiana. Bristol is always a great place for food and celebrations. Out server was very attentive but unobtrusive. She was knowledgeable of the menu and the wine list. It was a perfect evening looking out on the Ohio river with great food, wonderful dinner companions and a delightful restaurant."
